Anyone know why the hydraulic oil is pressurising in my greenmech chipper? It's leaking out around the filler?

Cheers

Can you be s bit more specific?

A hydraulic system is supposed to pressurise

Is the leakage fluid or is it bubbles and froth

It seems to be leaking from the area around the dipstick, when I pull that out it releases pressure. This is not the pressurised side because it's the tank. Though the pump is on the same housing.

the suction side of the pump could be drawing air or have a restriction on the suction screen which is making it draw air hence the hyd tank pressurises and blows oil out of the easiest orifice or around the return filter some machines do pressurise to stop cavitation but i would think that your chipper isn't built so . check jubilee clips on the feed to the pump or look for pinholes etc
