  1. We have an opening for a part time, self employed tree surgeon (max three days a week; job share available). We are a personal, professional company based in Stoke Newington, London, with consistently good feedback from customers. Owner Luke Geddes currently schedules the physical tree jobs for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays although there may be some flexibility in this to suit the right candidate(s). Pay is fixed per day and will be agreed with the successful candidate(s) in line with qualifications, skills, and experience. Ideally, candidates will: Have a love of and respect for trees and climbing them. Have all relevant chainsaw qualifications including using a chainsaw from a rope and harness and current aerial rescue and first aid. Have a full, LOLER certified climbing kit, including cambium saver. Have an understanding of the fundamentals of pruning cuts and why correct placement is so important for tree health. Have both intelligence and common sense. Be physically fit and strong. Non smokers preferred. Be a fast learner, able both to follow instructions and to act on own initiative. Be reliable, and punctual. Have an excellent work ethic, including taking pride in consistently working hard in a focused and efficient manner. You will have respect for safety, equipment, colleagues, and customers and their property. You will also have an eye for detail, and a positive, proactive approach towards getting the job done be that in the tree, spending all day on the ground, or sharpening a chainsaw when needed. Working in the Stoke, Telford and Shrewsbury areas, you will be part of a team responsible for vegetation clearance on the overhead electrical network. This work is to support a recent long term contract award in the area. Practical experience of overhead line vegetation clearance work is essential and we are keen to hear from individuals with UA certificates up to and including 2.3 as well as NPTC CS 39 qualification.
