I've heard about landfill getting dug up and recycled. Shudder to think what sort of quantities of metal etc is in them. Guess it will pay one day...

At the scrappers they shred the tyres and collect up the metal now. The black stuff goes for reuse too. I also wonder what gets recycled and what is actually dumped in tarmac mixes etc. I have seen the council recycling collections get tipped in the landfill while working in the quarry too. Was clearing off cliff faces at the time...😳

If you can find a husky 345 there great. I'm still a fan of the Germans but in a small wood the husky does win. I picked up a new husky 345 just a year or two ago to fill a size gap I needed. It's a great saw as a back up and for light use.

The quarry where they make tarmac get bonus points for mixing in recycled glass to the stuff they sell. More green targets being fudged no doubt.

I've subbed a few big boys over the years and not once have I been left without the payments. Yes work has stopped but not without notice period. Maybe BGM is a pain in their arse complaining about prices so they fu##ed him off.... There's usually two sides to these problems.

I did consider giving it to my farrier. Depends how much heat is required I guess. Obviously dipping it after makes it stronger. Being older the metal should be a better quality but I'm kind of thinking leave it as is ,. It's been well used and I kind of like that

He does seem pretty angry.... Among other things..😁 Like I said it's a daft bugger that does that and doesn't put safe guards in place. Subbing to large contractors is always trouble unless you legally bond them.

Yeah Was in the quarry recently clearing the uplift trails of vegetation and noticed a huge pile of mixed colour crushed glass they chuck into the tarmac presumably.

@spudulike your correct Braces solid steel.. it's well battered but I've treated the handle and oiled it so far.. looks like it's had a turn so definitely need to remove the handle and fit it with a new wedge.

Don't take any of it. Just spoke with a family member who lives there and they say it's highly unlikely it will be passed through customs.

Be interesting to see if they liven up . Time will tell but would expect a lot more pollen from them next year if the soil allows them to feed more . They don't mind growing in literally concrete. Might do them some good.👍

I regularly take out cash from the bank ... FU** em. I smashed my glasses recently and managed to get into town to the boots store where I was a regular customer. I followed a bus for guidance 👀🫣 I asked for an emergency pair and picked some off the shelf jobbies. I don't carry cards or anything when out working so raided the cash stash in the wagon ... They then refused to serve me saying they didn't take cash now due to COVID ... So I left without glasses and drove dangerously home... I now have a proper optician that would come out and fetch me if I was stuck. I also paid him cash for 3 pairs of very nice Oakley's and see him every year now... Keep spending cash please
