  1. Wife’s recipe, not pasta but risotto. I find risotto the best thing in the world to cook, as I can open a bottle of wine even though the recipe only requires a splash, then finish the rest off whilst adding the stock ladle by ladle, good Parmesan is a must.
  2. I would say it’s more like a larger 150 and lighter than a 200, my wrists certainly thank me for it, but I tend to get a back handled saw (550xp) up the tree asap nowadays.
  3. I bought one as a back up saw, at under €400, it comes with a 3/8 picco bar/chain set up here, usually 1/4 pitch in the UK. It’s not a bad saw overall after a couple of tweaks, got it set up with a 1/4 pitch Panther bar and a set of skeleton metal dogs from Rob D.
  4. Thanks for the bullshit update, but no one on here gives a flying f**k.
  5. Have you actually got anything relevant to say on any topic on any thread? I am struggling to remember a Arbtalk member more tedious.
  6. Cant even put the saw strop on right, and as for that carpet. 🤦‍♂️
  7. Cut the worst of it away from the stumps so it can’t wrap around the wheel and check for old concrete post stumps with reinforcement. Any decent grinder (certainly not the one in the photo) will rip those stumps to shreds, the wire won’t be an issue as long as you are operating the machine in the recommended work position.
  8. Just get a customsaws Echo 2511 and be done with it. 👍
  9. So what did you mean to say when you wrote this, as it seems like a straightforward statement?
  10. You been on the crack? I haven’t said anything of the sort, I haven’t mentioned good quality meat at any point in this discussion, shit quality cheap meat and its production/ consumption, yes. You said that it’s not possible to sustain a human on fruit and vegetables, you are wrong, it is possible and is happening in its millions right now.
  11. You can blame Gareth for that. 👍
  12. Total bollocks. The whole world wasn’t covered in Ice and the majority of people didn’t live in the poles. The vast majority of India, and that’s a lot of millions are strict Vegetarians, sustained totally on fruit and veg, my Doctor is one, you should do some research👍.
  13. And living in modern times. 👍
  14. You can’t even have a discussion about the modern meat industry without someone going in the attack, usually attacking some imaginary vegan who doesn’t even exist. Militant Meat eaters who have swallowed decades of meat industry propaganda, who’s conscience is pricked and go on the defensive. It always seems to be worse with people who don’t hunt, hunters generally get it.
  15. It is now though. 👍
  16. Why, was there a famine on all other edible foods for thousands of years except meat in the paleolithic age?
  17. Mostly vegetables, rice, past, eggs and sometimes a bit of fish on Friday. Unfortunately wild reindeer isn’t wasn’t available.
  18. True carnivores have a mouth full of canines, we have 4 out of 32, that should be a simple way to explain, even to someone wearing blinkers, how our diet ratio has developed, humans are designed like wolves, where do you get this shit from?😂
  19. There is a huge difference between hunting for meat in inhospitable areas where foraging isn’t viable, and eating cheap meat daily, supplied to you with no effort at your local supermarket, where there are hundreds of alternative foods. When I was a kid we ate meat on Sunday, maybe some paste butties in the week, compare that with today’s norm, then factor in the fast food establishments, Macdonalds, Burger King, KFC etc, not common when I was a kid, now in every high street, packed out selling cheap processed meat products but nothing to do with the obesity epidemic.😂
  20. You are aware that only around a quarter of the earths land mass was actually frozen in the Ice Age right?
  21. Whatever it was it wasn’t farmed.
  22. So I have mentioned Soya Bean production and US style of cattle rearing currently being discussed, hardly ALL agriculture now is it? Would you disagree that these two examples are seriously damaging practices? Cheap food, be it meat, milk or vegetables come at the cost of two things, the environment and the person/people who produce it, or do you disagree with that statement also?
  23. Show me where I have said that all agriculture is bad.
  24. I have my own eyes, I have lunch at work with groups of people most days , it is unusual if they are not eating some form of meat, then they tell me they are having a nice steak for tea, that is my experience, I’m not vegan or vegetarian so what have they got to do with anything?
  25. I haven't said anything of the sort.
