  1. I hate the stuff but I have a family to feed every Tom dick and Harry go around with their lawnmowers and hedge trimmers and do regular maintenance but there isn’t many folk around my way who do artificial grass same as many folk don’t do resin drives but me and another 2 firms do so it’s only a small competition and when folk phone for the work done and I give them a redicilous price and they say crack on then I’m rubbing my hands together in a ideal world everything would be natural but the world is moving in so I can rather say I’m not doing that and go hungry or give the customer what they want and get paid Jack
  2. They can’t be that ashamed they gave me £14k to do that transformation so who am I to say no? Every time I post pics of artificial grass there seems to be an outrage of eco warriors with their pitch forks at the ready? What’s the problem with artificial grass? I really don’t understand the huge fuss 🤦‍♂️ if it helps just got myself a contract with a artificial grass manufacturer for installations so that’ll keep me busy people need to realise now in the 21st century people communicate through technology they socialise through social media and sit at home watching TV every opportunity they get there too lazy to maintain their own gardens / properties so why keep paying out when you can make 1 lump sum payment and have zero / minimal maintenance and have the same garden 24/7 365 1/4 days a year? With no effort at all Jack
  3. I’m out to make a wage 👍 it’s a supply and demand industry the customer tells me what they want and I give them it 🤷‍♂️ we all have families to feed at the end of the day Jack
  4. Wasn’t sure that’s all 😂😂 Jack
  5. Job finished today grass supplied by customer from cheap carpet place so absolute tat really don’t like the cheap stuff the grass has been left on a roll since July with all sorts stacked on it so left flat spots they’ll drop out once the nicer weather gets to it 🤦‍♂️ stretched the life out of it that’s the best it would go Jack
  6. Before and after customer supplied grass and it looks 💩 in all honesty Jack
  7. Not today Fridays job little bit of Indian sandstone 🤦‍♂️ Jack
  8. Genuine ones are the aftermarket ones are made of shite made more with wire wool and stuff for the the emissions where as the standard ( genuine) ones are the real McCoy so worth a few quid some can be worth up to £1500 - £1800 I bought and old Suzuki grand vitara 16v just for messing about off road gave £200 for it absolutely destroyed it cut the cats off got £350 then weighed the jeep in for £220 Jack
  9. In all fairness now the genuine manufacturer one has been stolen all aftermarket’s stamped E then the number is worth nothing maybe £20 scrap value so they won’t bother it you can tell aftermarket ones straight away just looking at them Jack
  10. That’s my 2 go to saws my 261 on a 15” & my 362 on a 20” both fun saws 362 pulls a 18” and really takes off but 20” just chops away Jack
  11. The one stop bodies are rubbish there paper thin and rot really fast get a britt tipp ally tipper for it will look better & last a lot longer Jack
  12. Hi Got a Husqvarna T540xp mk1 and i cant figure out what's up with it 🤷‍♂️ When you start it up you have to use the choke everytime amd it'll start and run but after a minute it cuts out even if you hold the revs it dies 🤦‍♂️ any suggestions as to what it can be looked at the carb and its just loads of wires Jack

  15. I normally use 50x50x600mm pegs to hold the bottom course into the ground then to fix the sleepers together i use 250mm hex head timber screws counter sunk into the sleeper 10mm flat bit usually works for the countersinking as you stack them up on top of each other 3x2 fixed to the inside does or a 3x3 post Jack
  16. I’d maybe try not go into the tree sounds like a headache waiting is there no access for a MEWP to get close to them? Be a lot less hassle for you and the tree surgeon Jack
  17. There 250 x 125 made out of shite timber and are as bent as a 10 bob bit and the best bit is there £45 each the fixings are £25 for a box of 50 everything about them is expensive and horrible but I’m in it to provide a profitable service so that’s how it goes in for a penny in for a pound 😂😂 Jack
  18. Prime example of my workload consists of paving / installing artificial grass and sleeper work same shit different day 😂😂 Jack
  19. It’ll never happen because if it goes mossy or as you say starts to go scruffy the customer will blame the installer or they’ll go to the manufacturer and the manufacturer will pass the blame down to the installer the most common people who we install for now are pensioners who can’t maintain there own gardens but don’t want a concrete jungle they always complain about their local gardener not turning up and what was once a lovely manicured lawn is full of moss and big grass piles where it has been left to grow out of control so they like the greenery there is that many different choices with colours pile heights and feels it’s convenient for a lot of people I don’t like the smell of it when it’s warm and joining it is a absolute pita Jack
  20. So does this clear me of man slaughter? I know the plastic shit is good for nothing and the more that gets laid the less potential work I’ll have in the future regarding garden maintenance but it’s in demand and it pays well and if I’m not laying it someone else will do the way i see it is it is what it is it’s no good for the environment but what is? Every thing you do has some sort of repercussion In some form also you can never please everyone Jack
  21. I didn’t know about that 😂😂 you must really not like this grass ehh? What’s your thoughts on carrier bags? Jack
  22. It’s laziness that’s all it is it’s a nice looking garden all year round with minimal maintenance and as for paving eventually it’ll need pressure washed / cracked pointing replaced ect all costs money because physical labour is frowned upon now and DIY isn’t fashion if you want something done you have to pay someone to do it and yeah they know we lay it in schools / nursery’s most people want it now Jack
