  1. That's the one. Could be a good base unit to add a chipper, crane and winch to... for the price of a rusty 40 year old mog!
  2. There's one on machinio for 13k if anyone wants to take a chance!
  3. Don't have figures but a good nozzle is as important as good pressure, some of the cheaper brands have poor distribution of water, giving a small area of higher pressure and little in the way of meaningful force towards the edges of the spray pattern.. at a guess I would suggest going mid to high range domestic or small industrial quality with a well known brand.. the model numbers probably have something to do with pressure 110, 120 etc, seen a few people mention numbers like that..
  4. Money to burn, eh?!
  5. Well said.. ironic really, how he uses the name of a Roman emperor who was, if memory serves me, most famous for taxes, notably on the use of toilets.. effectively taxing excrement. The very thing the vespasian we suffer seems to be so full of.
  6. There's something about the eyes.. makes me squeamish! The ould fella was pricking about in the shed one day and somehow managed to stick a piece of wire into his eye.. he's not even sure exactly how it happened! but in it went. it looked rough.. no blood but trying to blink and this two foot long piece of wire hanging down.. hospital, pirate costume for a few weeks, much discomfort and swelling and luckily only minor loss of vision, had he pulled it out in the shed the jelly squirty thing openspaceman mentioned could well have been a reality.
  7. Price or reliability... although if they had a low residual value maybe a second-hand lefty one from some city council bin collection or parks management past could be worth a chance? Are they Japanese? If they are there's some chance of picking up a well specced one from there.. not as expensive as you may think to freight one over. Parts and continuity of parts supply would be my concern, but really im talking shyte cos i ended up with a mog and every one of them is an oddball!
  8. ... and get it all through the 3ft side gate.
  9. Impressive, if I'm to be honest. Looked more like a toy in the first pics.. capable little machine.
  10. Sorta looks like the kind of thing you would always wish was just a little bigger when you actually arrived at the job! Tidy about town though.
  11. Could cause it to penetrate more as the particles are dissolved faster In the heat but there would already have to be some corrosion present, unless it was painted by British Leyland. Then any power washer will strip it back to bare metal!
  12. To my knowledge nilfisk alto make the internals for stihl powerwashers, a touch cheaper than the stihl branded machine like for like. I use a diesel heated one on occasion, belonging to a neighbour who runs a quarry. Serious cleaning power! Cleans hardened 804 off the shovels like its not there. But they're pricey and can give a bit of bother if you run them with clogged filters. If it's greasy stuff you're dealing with, go for heated, for household or light industrial cold with a little detergent works well enough.
  13. Yeah, talk about derailing a thread... shame on you both!
  14. Worst pain I ever felt. Like burning hot sand scraping across your eyes.. lingered for days. Wouldn't volunteer myself again! after all it is easily avoidable.
  15. Can't go wrong with a karcher from what I've heard..nilfisk not bad either.
  16. It was.. I'll be off so...
  17. I'm starting to get an itch for something like this! Classy little machines.
  18. No, but I read that Mick Dempsey reckons he has a masters in bating!
  19. That's beginning to happen! My head says, "ah go on, manhandle that log there, you hero you" and my back says "whoa there young man, I'm a lot older than you think, them things hurt, where's the key for that digger over there?" My head says, "emm, I left it at home this morning, that's why I'm ringing this log now.." back says "getting forgetful are we?" dammit. I am getting old!
  20. Will do... fingers crossed, will post a pic or two on this thread when something happens! Given that it was grown on from a bouquet of flowers I would hazard a guess that it was from an especially vibrantly coloured lineage. Hopefully I never learn to grow up either, it looks like it's no fun!
  21. She has been treated very unfairly in my opinion. Just saying worse could have happened. The money can possibly be recouped. Can't say the same if the dog died in "care"
  22. Have to agree with rough hewn, would do more to get one of the dogs back than I would for most people. She is possibly lucky to have gotten back a healthy and alive dog..
  23. It's true.. an ex of mine had a miniature jack Russell. Horrible thing. Yappy and nasty and totally out of control, even tried to bite me once. Bloody dog was almost as bad.
  24. I see what you did there!
