  1. Mich my dodgy shoulder wouldn't alloe me to pull up 40 ft If I hadn't of put a lower prussick for the foot I wouldn't have made it Shoulder is foooked
  2. Do you think I'm taking on too much for a nonvice climber? I mean im not gonna quit. But could have done with some easy take downs for a while. Was gonna get help but he le me down so I figured it'd see what I'm made of. Achy tendons and muscless evidently lol
  3. Here's the trees. Can't really guage it will from photos but it's the best I can do.
  4. Oh I also bought ropes, helmet, prussicks etc etc etc. Reckon 48k in the end.
  5. Where I need to be is about 30 ft up for the best pruning points and we are looking at about 10ft to each trunk. Yeah, I work 100 hours a week mate, got 2 jobs so I figured aaaah, fook it re the truck. Jo beau drives into back of van and I gotta say I love that chipper. After sales are great too. Will do them a photo and facebook shout when I get time.
  6. So I passed out at 8pm due to exhaustion and I'm now awake and thinking. What I want to do is follow instruction above re single rope ascension but also I have something else in mind. The 4 oaks... They are bunched. I've done 1 an 1/3 of another. I want to tie rope around all of them and use a prussock with x2 caribenars to ab sail around from 1 to the other. I figure I could do an anchor hitch at 1 tree, 2 or 3 half hitches to the next and so on to the last tree and then anchor hitch again. If I have x 2 prussocks with caribenars I can switch over when I get to a tree or I can lanyard around it and work the tree. What do you reckon? Also, how can I buy this shit at 8 am tomorrow morning around Southampton area? Ta
  7. Any yeah I will be sub contracting to tree consultants in case anyone asks about all aspects of tree surgery. I'm doing the 1 day Lantra survey course next month myself. I want to go into consulting when I get too old.
  8. It bought this An ex display jo beau m500 I upgraded my trailer andn sign writing. Marketing Ropes , helmet, training and I paid for my dads house to be painted and decorated and carpeted. I did it all but still. Maybe 45k
  9. Gonna get it but just spent 50k on stuff. Gonna wait till after winter before I spend another penny.
  10. Had 7 hours of climbing today. Left cambian saver up there but didn't fancy pulling up 40 ft so fitted a prussock to below me for easier ascension. All went really well. Free fall techniques landed correct. Pruning is going well. No danger. Then.... I could not get myself into a union. last hour of the day, couldn't pull into it. Wasted so much energy. Also my prussock started slipping every so slightly couldn't figure out why. Pretty beat up ATM. Reall tired
  11. Come on you must be joking right?
  12. Bastards. I once bought a disc cutter from a guy in Dorset. Someone dropped a crane over his wall from the road side and stole a 40ft yacht would you believe.
  13. Fooking loved it today. Swinging around in the breeze at 40ft. Felt right at home. Couldn't remember how to throw my line up though so it unbunched as it fell so felt like a right twat. Also bought too many long lines etc. The usual teething problems but so far so good. No deaths, or breakages etc https://www.dropbox.com/s/4zp625iag5c2zyl/20181119_140832.mp4?dl=0
  14. No that's fine. There's a call for it and it pays well. Once some leaves drop on it and such it really doesn't look fake at all. I have done high spec turfing jobs using minster pro lawn on high quality soil and it looks so good it looks fake.
  15. I'm slowly going batteries. Except generator and a combi engine.
  16. Dan would you please explain to me how one goes about stealing a fucking concrete crusher of all things?
  17. I was never a fan but you can't tell me that is not an improvement
  18. I see! Bit of bleach now and then perhaps.
  19. I fail to see how that's possible if laid correctly. Apart from edges of course. Bit of weed killer though and problem solved. If it had moss it wasn't draining properly in which case it didn't have sufficient sub base.
  20. Yeah I used to hate it but I only install the quality stuff and I like it. Bugger to install though IMO. I can lay sandstone faster than I can lay that, depending on cuts etc. 35 degrees during install also... sigh...
  21. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ts07isitldqdxas/AADb-twVuVIFkbqh4_OpVjuAa?dl=0
  22. x4 bunched 45 ft oaks to reduce in the morning. I'm never gonna sleep.
  23. I have a 3.5 ton trailer thought. With cage and ramps it has a payload of about 2.5 tons. I was wondering if I could get a crane around the 500kg mark I'd be golden.
  24. Mick any idea of the lightest hi ab that could be bolted to a 3.5 ton trailer with reasonable reach?
