just incase anyone wanted to see it 😁

It’s had the squish band cut, base cut, port timing altered (exhaust intake and upper transfers), ports widened / reshaped, ignition timing advance and a muffler mod. Here’s some pics of the squish band before and after and the muffler mod.

A couple of saws I’ve just finished. Found a recipe I’m liking for the 550xp mark II. That MS440 is a clean saw, not done much work. Nice to work on them as they’re getting rarer.

I might have a 572 available, let me check something in the morning. I had someone ask me about it and I just want to confirm if he’s taking it or not. I can also get adjustable carb MS462s if you’re interested. If it was me I’d have a ported 572. Or a 372 but that wasn’t one of the choices. [emoji23]

Yeah I spoke to someone about this recently. £500 was a bargain. I can do some slightly better prices off eBay but unfortunately not that cheap.

I can get these if anyone is interested.

Looking forward to it. [emoji106]

The mufflers depend on what’s done inside the saw when porting. The more you open it up the more can be done because it can process more fuel. My guy got back to me. It uses more fuel for sure. The 500i is an awesome saw. Ported it’s just an animal. So as I said it depends what you want. Next one I do I’ll do a comparison vid stock vs ported.

Depends what you want out it really, bigger bar, faster cut speed etc. If a dealer knows it’s ported it’ll void the warranty. Depends on the dealer and what’s the issue I suppose. If it’s something you’re uncertain of then probably best to wait. I’ve ported plenty of brand new saws straight out the box but it’s preference. Once you run a ported saw most people stick with them. I’ll ask the last guy I did a 500 for what the fuels like.
