  1. It was a wee bit rich on the first cut so needed a tune. All the saws I do I test and tune in the wood. It’s the best way to do it to get the most out them.
  2. Here’s one I made earlier 😁 IMG_2165.MOV
  3. Sent you a pm with all the details. Looking forward to getting stuck into it. The 372 is one of my favourite saws.
  4. Nice vid @slack ma girdle. Saw sounds well, glad you’re liking it.
  5. Thanks Mike, Appreciate it. That 572 is a sexy saw in black, It turned out well. Looking forward to seeing the vids.
  6. It needs to be a really deep scratch to see it. General wear and tear won’t show it through.
  7. The plastics were dyed while the saw was in for some port work. The 5 series saws look great because of the grey crank case. Before..
  8. Cheers Dave. Good to know they’re out in the woods doing their job. Yeah the black 572’s a good looking saw but it’s all about what’s under the hood 😉
  9. thanks for posting Mike. They look great with those bars. Just don’t get that black one dirty. It’s too pretty 😂

IMG_3166.MOV @outinthewood putting his C&S Custom Saws ported 550xp to work. The saw was built for more torque so it would pull a bigger bar with ease. The saws running a 20” bar with 3/8 chain. A small saw doing big work. It proves the point of why porting a saw is beneficial.

Thanks Dave, appreciate the feedback. Hope you enjoy both those saws. Looking forward to your thoughts once they’ve had some tanks through them. You now need to send me that 592 of yours to get it ported and complete the set 😉

    Barkbox

I think bark boxes have their place but they don’t do a great deal unless you do more inside the saw. They do give faster spool up but in the cut it won’t make a huge difference. Where the difference is made is when they’re used along side work done inside the cylinder. The bigger outlet that they have allows the saw to process more fuel.

the middle part is dolmars SLR (scavenging losses rejection) system. It reduces emissions and restricts the saw. Had to go.

Thanks. That’s got to be the strangest muffler internals I’ve ever seen. They really restrict it from factory. Once it was opened up inside it didn’t need too much more outlet. I like a grunt from a saw that doesn’t make your ears bleed.
