  1. I think the newer saws get some bad feedback sometimes for having electronic carbs when actually they’re a great feature. The majority of issues are still down to basic things on the saw rather than the carbs. It’s the dealers that are at fault when they just want to throw a carb at it and don’t actually check the saw over properly. I’ve seen it too many times. Mtronic and Autotune have come a long way. I like how they will adapt to port work. It’s pretty impressive. There’s something to be said about old school saws that have more grunt and a different power. It’s all preference.

    Simons a good guy. I’ve only seen his 572 run. Looks a strong saw. Artur does good work. He’s the only person I advise people go to if they can’t wait. He’s doing things right. If anyone is looking to get a saw ported, make sure you’re getting what you pay for. Not just some port widening and a gasket delete. Lots of guys out there charging fortunes and doing half a job.

  11. I’ve actually wanted to do a pink saw for a while. Problem is you can’t dye it pink. Needs to be hydro dipped.

    the 372s are prone to leaking from the clutch side crank seal, if you're replacing this you need to replace the o ring as well, and i'd suggest replacing the sleeve at the same time. I've had them leak when the seal was changed but the sleeve wasn't. they also have issues where the intake boot leaks around the intake manifold support, this can happen when its warm. the plastic clamp deforms. farmertec do a metal one that is actually better than OEM. if this needs replaced i'd replace the intake boot at the same time. a pressure and vac test should tell you this but may mask the deformed clamp.

    Yeah Joes a good guy, does some good work. I’m planning on getting one of my 2511s over to him to get it on the dyno.

    Maybe something to do with transfer velocity. Not sure though. I was a bit wary of cutting it off but after porting one with it off I have no problem binning it now 😂

    I cut it off when I’m cutting the base on them too. It does no harm. Crank case still feeds the transfers the same.

    I can supply a modified muffler if you like. If you didn’t want to go for a full port job. Or I can modify your own if you send it up. this is how I do them.

    Yes it’s worth it. It’s a completely different saw when ported right. A bit of machining and the port timing changed and it’s a much better saw. The m-tronics adapt very well to port work and you can get really good gains, when the right work is done. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
