  11. If everyone gave up when there were 52. There be a lot gaps to fill in! Personally I am looking forward to do the various cards ! And qualifying. I won't be running off to start up myself . Not that's if you want to do that then get on and try it, if you don't you be wondering should I have tried it? I intend to work for a company, I do my fare share of graft! It's either a tree surgeon or porn star ! No only kidding as a porn star, I have always wanted to have a go, I am getting a reasonably pay out for a crash and I've decided to have a go. Never a bad thing having a few irons in the fire! Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  13. Hi all , just for yours information, back 5 years ago I did my cscs card, I was the only pest controller the rest of the group were painters from a company, well 2 guys got kicked of within 20 mins as there language and I know it all didn't impress the tutor . So I gets asked if you are using a hammer and the head falls off what do u do? Reply get a new one or if site supervisor tell him. Both were classed as correct either would do. 2 blokes pipe up put it back on! And carry on with the job, after numerous scenarios these 2 guys followed the previous guys Sent home, don't come back you are walking health hazard. Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  18. Hi all , forgive me if I get this wrong! The machine that chops the tree branches up I assume is a chipper that throws into back of van? Is this machinery covered under the level 2 chainsaws? Or Level 3 aerial tree rescue ? Or is there a course for using this machine on its own . If there is a course what do I look for in respect of qualifications. Cheers Nikk Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk

  23. God I've read all the above now I am confused, I've been in touch with a training member based in holmfirth , To train as a arborist for work in the uk , this what I've been told. Level 2 award in chainsaw maintenance, cross cutting, fell and process trees up to 380mm fee is £796.95 inc of Vat. Level 2&3 awards in tree climbing & Aerial Rescue, Aerial cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free fall techniques £994.00 inc vat plus £120.00 for hire of PPE. In addition wood chipping qualification ( which I haven't located a course yet) and finally F+ First aid course still trying to located nearest centre. So I just hope these will get me a job as I am risking my sanity and my marriage for this new career

  25. God help me my sanity is getting pushed to the limit! My current career is virtually dead in the water, so I've joined here and I've made enquiries for a New career as groundsman/ Tree surgeon. My bank won't give me a loan, as my business is not very healthy, glad I don't owe any money, second my wife says will you get a job after all the training? Wife says you need a good wage and you need to get experience, pointed out to her you only get experience starting at the bottom and over period of time you gain the experience. She moaning again why are you selling all your bits and pieces and your rifles? Well you think if u can't get a loan it bloody obvious why I am selling all my much loved guns, my collection of watches and some of my traps used over the years in pest control and anything else to raise the fees. It's a good job there's no bridges around me I'd be tempted ! Right had my moan time to get my list together . Sent from my iPad using Arbtalk
