  1. i have a big head. i have some MSA HPE defenders on a petzl vent but i cannot stop the ear pieces pinging out. do i take a pair of pliers to the brass spring plate to bend further out or would that just fock em up?
  2. What damage do spikes do to hardwoods? Would introduced disease merely be cosmetic or can it kill a mature tree? Not thinking about commercial damage to the timber
  3. I think he did well felling that wot with his stepladders and the chainsaw he found abandoned in someone’s shed
  4. He should be stripped of all his qualifications
  5. I was using my pick up and tackle for easy access trees but this little winch can go anywhere
  6. It’s called portable winch. Pc3000. No bother with 8ft sections of 12” dbh spruce
  7. Has cyanide in it believe it or not
  8. Because, like all of us, they can be wrong. It is possible but unlikely his occupation could be to blame but other causes more likely
  9. I have occ health training. Nasopharyngeal cancers are associated with wood dust. Fine hard wood the worst so soft wood chips not such a problem. I do a lot of milling and therefore my airway is a lot closer to chainsaw exhaust and so often blows the ash from the cigarette I am smoking into my eyes.
  10. Fantastic picture
  11. Changed my mind. Bought a “portable winch “ and used it and happy
  12. Success The little ones do move from tree to tree hence ash to pine
  13. Putting up owl box
  14. Reminds me of an old girlfriend
  15. I am lol at this point
  16. I've got loads of time. I'm gonna be like Petrocelli, if you are old enough to remember, he used to add a brick course to his house after solving crimes in the 70s and never finished it before the show was pulled. In fact I will have to build a drying shed first to dry the timber so FK how long before completion
  17. Happened to me. Filed the bar. Sorted
  18. TBH I would sooner it be dumped in middle of road than over hedge or on verge as council will clean it up quicker. Some see you next Tuesday dumped a load on my lane once forcing me to drive over fields to get to work on time. When I got home Council had cleared it.
  19. I’m gonna be doing the same. Building a Shed with my own milled wood to make garden furniture etc. I see you have a circular saw. Do you have a mincer or shredder big enough to take limbs or part torsos? Job [emoji736]
  20. Actually. If you zoom in the buds are not beech like
  21. dobroye utro. now I cannot argue as I am but a novice but if you look beyond the fat gut on this bloke you can see the beech leaves at the fence, the ground flora is sparse, the sycamore like bark is only on the twisted bit. Can’t see buds unfortunately. I cannot say I forensically studied the tree but if I recall there were a number of beeches around. if anyone knows the spot it is in Yellow Craig near North Berwick
  22. Beg to differ. I’m 52 and retire in 3 years and plan to do the level 3 diploma. Outdoors, keeps you fit. The constant thrill that at any time you might take your leg off. I used to rock climb so ropes harnesses etc no problem. I have a woodland and 20 years diy chainsaw experience. Can’t wait [emoji4]
  23. Health and safety inspector?
