  1. Before mechanism of farming they were in high demand, much like the Eastern Europeans of today. Then they lost their job and the rest is history Much like the problem with Ulster. Every fucker south of Carlisle that moved to Ireland from Norman times on assimilated into Irish culture. The Protestant Scots didn’t and so the trouble began ( not forgetting the massive injustices to the Irish from the British) Travellers chose not to assimilate
  2. Yeah but unless your dad told you you didn’t know this would be the case when you were old and bald. So, when u were 16/18?
  3. I love everything trees and chainsaws but am an amateur. When I was at school I wanted to be a marine biologist. I was good at biology and fancied getting paid to dive in the Caribbean. My biology teacher persuaded me to take a more realistic route. 35 years on I could have seen myself in your line of work but I was an inner city kid and WTF was arboriculture? My son is floating around doing fuck all. I know I shouldn’t try and persuade him to do my fancies but why did you lot choose what you did? Drifted into it or went for it?
  4. My next door neighbour farmer who hates travellers because he gets a shit load of grief from them, tipped asbestos in his old quarry, come tip, where I go rabbit shooting. We are all bigoted, we all cheat on the law, we all feel aggrieved with our lot but some more than others. Eggs, isn’t it a viscous circle that travellers chose to be separate from main stream society but then have a chip about it? I would never have started this thread if I wasn’t pissed off with illegal fly tipping (and had a few cans)
  5. hats off to Gobby and Eggs for sticking up for themselves. they must get pissed off being lumped in with the less respectful members of their community
  6. lets see it then
  7. i am dismayed at the amount of times i see that Travellers are discriminated against on this site. i know for a fact that the local Travellers site near me sees qualified Arborists from all over, coming along in the dead of night, to illegally dump brash and shite in their temporary camp. It's the poor old council that has to come along and clear this at the expense of taxpayers. So to all you, so called professional arborists, out there, please stop doing this, you are giving this community a bad name.
  8. You’re crazy. Surely a naked woman?
  9. not seeing pics
  10. I used to be a pretty good rock climber until a medical condition forced me to quit (morbid obesity I think the quack said). Can’t comment on your technique but when I started rock climbing my forearms were pumped doing a baby route as those muscles aren’t really used a lot. I think it will settle once you get into it. Try spinach. Works for Popeye
  11. but, i don't do any other social media, i'm a sad twat and wanted to share this. new trailcam in my garden https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOqsIQKfBIk i love foxes even though i lost 2 chickens this week before i made the entrance hole in the fence slightly smaller i bated a pigeon
  12. I’m andrew as well[emoji4] Well, in no hurry and as the branches are off no more sap on the cars and washing line. I might leave it. But with no leaves the sap will stop flowing?
  13. Aren’t woodies a bit big for them? One once pinched a collared dove I had shot when it landed in the stubble

  18. its looks to be exactly the same size of the one above. keeping it mate. I want to do something with it rather than my rough and ready work with the softwood. any ideas welcome
