also to note that that White Welsh girl who went a bit stabby pleaded not guilty yesterday. Another piece of psychotic scum that should not be walking the streets of the UK.

How to Sweep Wood Burning Cook Stove?
Steven P replied to Rhiw's topic in Log burning stoves and fireplaces
Just had a look at the users manual online, not a lot in there about sweeping the flu - so I'd assume it should be reasonably obvious. If the sweep cannot find how to send the brushes up the chimney then maybe they should try going downwards - and then it will be obvious where the soot is coming out and gives a clue where to brush from next time? If you are getting is swept I'll be guessing you are giving it a good clean anyway so perhaps have a good look to see if there is anything obvious. In the manual there appears to be options for a right angle bend in the flu behind the stove or a straight flu out the top of it, which way around is yours? A straight flue / chimney should be OK to sweep from the top, a right angle bend should have some sort of access to stop if blocking at that point -
Didn't see any but I was just looking out the window,

This argument always makes me laugh. Under international laws and UK laws, as a country we have to assess and process asylum seekers, there is no such thing as an illegal asylum seeker. The way they enter the country might be illegal but that does not make their status illegal. Just to re-iterate the Tory success of the last 14 years is a very profitable small boat sales business in Calais. 1 million legal migrants, 0.07 million asylum seekers in the last year. Where is the migration problem? The government sanctioned or those fleeing their home countries to avoid being killed or persecuted,. I don't suppose I have to remind you that to claim asylum you need more than "I just fancied living in the UK" as a reason and that actual "I was going to be killed for my beliefs" might be beneficial. And we keep the asylum seekers in poverty, pocket money only, no right to work, hotel living, crammed together, nothing to do all day, and then wonder why they are getting a bit stressy. Why not substitute them into the legal migration quota, let them do jobs and work, earn a living, reduce the burden on the tax payer and give them back some hope? But of humanity. Reduce the legal migrant numbers. If they fail their asylum claims, off they go, home quick sharp, if they are accepted then all is good...and they can save up to go home when conditions in their own countries improve. Just a thought.

Work experience is invaluable.. but the 'employer' has to be switched on. I've had a couple of youngsters sit with me for a day each, often with about 10 minutes notice "This is Bob, look after him till 5, show him what you do". I think takes effort from all sides - employer, teachers, and student to get the best from it. Things like the Duke of Edinburgh Award and the Scouts / Cadets do some volunteering stuff and for longer term which is perhaps more useful... if you go to the right places and not just a tick box exercise... But given the right opportunities I'd encourage anyone to do it

Come back and comment when you do instead of general comments on your perception

For better or not, letting that one slide today.

As mentioned above a couple of times, if "The Accused" admits guilt, holds their hands up, it was me, it is les onerous on the police to provide enough evidence in court to secure a conviction. Often all is needed is a confession, judge will make a judgement. If the police have to gather the evidence then they have to do a thorough job, cover all avenues of the defendants arguments to secure a conviction else the accused will walk. This takes more time. It is not rocket science, spend 10 minutes in an interview room "Was it you?" "Yes"... off to court job done . Compared to full house searches, DNA evidence, lab work, CCTV records, multiple witness statements - and each piece of evidence has to match and be water tight to avoid a defence lawyer exploiting it. I reckon the 2nd option takes more time. If the Rotherham (child) rapists had held their hands up "Was it you?" "Yes" then they too would have been banged up years ago also. No 2 tier law and order, but a diligent police force who are up against idiots this week who think it is OK to throw rocks at them and slate them on social media.

maybe, however, where in the 11 minute clip is James OBrien telling a load of rubbish here

Farage has a massive following in the UK and when he quotes that well adjusted 'influencer'.. err rapist (allegedly) Andrew Tate that the murderer in Southport was a Muslim (incorrectly), named him (incorrectly), a recent arrival in the UK (incorrectly) and an asylum seeker (incorrect too) you have to wonder how much of his words were taken as truth - especially coming from an MP (allegedly.... turned up in Parliament... once). I will lay part of the blame for inflaming things at his door, likewise to Twitter, and the press who are advertising ahead of time "riots are expected to occur here, here and here".. so we all know where to go throw bricks at the police. The press are not the ones inflaming things for months before now... that was Farage... Edit here: Just catching the afternoon news: From the Telegraph: Tory leadership contender accuses Farage of ‘fuelling conspiracy theories’

However the land thing isn't asylum seekers or religion, it is the million government sanctioned immigrants - the ones who come here to 'steal our jobs', they are the ones putting pressure on housing, finances and so on. As a country we can (and should?) be able to offer sanctuary to those whose own countries want to torture or kill... and yet it is the same asylum seekers who are demonised by the likes of Farage, Robinson, the right wing press and so on. Images of a blow up dinghy are quite news friendly. A family immigrating through Heathrow - looking like you or me do as we return from holiday are not exciting pictures. The recent riots have been fuelled by the constant press / Farage / etc.. going on and on about asylum seekers, 'fighting age young men', religious hatred, any coloured person commits a crime it is highlighted yet similar crimes by white population is passed by without comment... and the idiots have sucked it up. You're right though housing problems could be solved if we half the number of immigrants but we are focussed on the wrong sort of immigrants. Noting that Robinson is quite happy in his £400 a night, 5 star hotel in Cyprus this week. Remind me what he does for a job that can afford that... (Cyprus.... maybe those who know these things, do the Russians take any special interest in the UK involvement there I wonder....)

So he wasn't there to try to score politcal points on Harris, why was he wandering about the tarmac then?

Battery measured in AH - Amp Hours? To do the same amount of work, larger volts will take fewer amps (Power = Volts x Amps type of equation, volts go up, amps go down, power stays the same). (And with the maths, Say power output of, for example 10, and 40 volts, amps would be 0.25. Same power 10, 18V, amps will be 0.56A, about 2.23 times larger than 40V Amps... which coincidentally 53 minutes is also sort of about 2.23 times longer than 23 minutes..... same power output but longer run time for the same battery capacity)

In the photo are they the ones that Robinson, Farage, Social Media and so on had called on to go to visit the local mosque, perhaps with a couple of bricks in hand? Or the ones whose social media had suggested to peacefully take to the streets? Lets check on 2 tier policing levels and the opened road... guess it wasn't the group who had advertised in advance they were going to do some violent disordering and rioting then?
-
They are the ones stoking the fires, but no, go on to read the next paragraph.

That's the story on our window of the world and the press, yes. I commented the other day that the police and justice system is slow, got to give it time to revolve and not a few days to see full and correct justice being done.

Why are the communities doing it? The top line is they are being wound up - like some on here - by the press, by Farage, by Robinson, to a lesser extent by Trump, by the internet forums and social media all saying "we are being over run or attacked, defend yourselves"... and that goes to both sides of the argument - Farage et al appealing to the White British and their messaging by inference the Muslim community "Farage and his mob are gong to attack, lets defend". That's the headline reasoning why the communities are dong it. Deeper into it though there are universal social problems making the idiots susceptible to the suggestions that throwing bricks at the police is a good idea - poverty, poor living conditions, the 'great and the good' lording over them, no view on how to better themselves, and so on. Not seen many of the protestors coming out of their £300k+ Barratt houses do we? They are pouring out of the £150k Victorian terraces though. If you look at for example the knife crime hotspots in the country (or gun crime areas in the US) the demographic of both sets overlap. Maybe instead of seeing who can shout the loudest over whose fault it is, left or right, maybe understand the problem and say to the politicians that that is what needs to be addressed. It can be done, look at say Glasgow, 20 years ago, a lot of stabbyness, some areas I wouldn't walk alone at night where I would happily now, a political will changed that, a realisation of the issues... and they is what is needed.
-
100+ police officers are also hurt in these protests also. Some are also women. Why up tight about 1 lady police officer being hurt amongst so many? Checks nationality / religion of the offenders. So the Southport man admitted the offence, justice is done quickly without a trial. Manchester man didn't and so the police have to gather all the evidence to create a case to take to court so enable a win. Manchester police are gathering evidence which takes longer than "Did you do it?" "Yes" "OK, off to prison". Is that simple enough. Not much more to it than that, certainly no 2 tiers of policing. Southport man went out that evening to cause trouble, premeditated, Manchester man was flying home with his mum where I believe he squared up to someone giving his mum racist abuse and it kicked off from there, no premeditation.
-
Still awaiting trial. Suspect they have a better lawyer who is doing a lot of delaying tactics. I wonder if the 30 previous offences for violence worked in the favour or against the Southport man?
-
2nd quote I read, think it was an article in the Telegraph - wrong computer last night so I didn't copy the link - along the lines of "2 tier policing has been invented by those pushing conspiracy theories"... I noted this in my mind because it came from the Telegraph or Express (If it was a left wing press, I would have passed over this as a part of their narrative - but it was from the 'right' of politics press)
-
And yet, how many police officers have been hospitalised this week by the right wing protests? Curious post I got last night, from Southport Mosque that kicked this all off: "Press release from the Southport Mosque" (time line of events) "1. For two days prior to the attack, threatening notes and letters were received, which were reported to the police" ... 2 days prior to the events and a day before these girls were murdered...
-
Seeing the graph "encounters" I assume means they have intercepted someone trying to cross into the US where they shouldn't. I read the graph then that the US Border patrols are working harder and doing more patrols under Biden, and under Trump were sat in their offices more often doing less?

Is the warranty specific to you, some apply only to the original purchaser and can't be transferred. Both machines run and work as they should?

Regardless of myself, I know our postman isn't.....

More so than usual this week, the right wing press are usually at it but the rest have joined in
