  1. It is not a subject that I'd be posting on an arborist forum, however I noticed your posts this week were stunningly quiet about the Glasgow grooming gang jailed this week.... as if you only want to report coloured gangs, to me it appears to a part of your racist agenda.
  2. Mentioned this before, the defence "OK not a good man, but look over there, that man is not a good man either so that pardons man 1 of everything" is pretty poor to be honest By way of a repeated example: "Yes, I done a murder, but that man did 2 murders, so I can go free now" Doesn't work. Still not a good man. Still did rapes. Still watched children undressing. Still had a bestie raping children.. and said nothing. Still put forward for promotion others who were sleeping with children. None of the above in any shape or form are defensible.
  3. Trump is not a good man. Don't know how many time this needs reiterating. If he walked into my local, and granted my local might be in one of the more 'discerning' areas around here, then the locals would be having a quiet word with him as he walked home. They would not by falling at his feet worshiping and his sex crimes, his racist ranting, his discrimination, his divide and conquer politics. to worship him in the way that many do is to accept his crimes. To legitimise them. I'd ask again, if he was a local to any of you, would you be buying him a pint in the knowledge that he openly walked in on the Junior Miss World changing rooms...as they were changing.. that he never spoke up as his best friend was raping children on his private island... as he forwarded his pals names for top government jobs knowing that they had also slept with children... would you walk in the pub, shake his hand and buy him a pint? Not a good man.
  4. Oh, for the hard of understanding. I am surprised that you never read that story or watched the video clip considering it was featuring your hero, Trump. To get you up to speed, Trumpy is biggly in the news after suggesting he thinks that the helicopter / plane crash was the fault of the air traffic control personnel being anything other than white males; dwarves, amputees and epileptics featuring in his rant. Perhaps you didn't get that far due to the tears of pain that old Trump is getting another slating in the news. Can't handle it.
  5. No, the fault of the crash is not the fault of Trump. But blaming the crash on Dwarves, amputees or epileptics is. That is because The Rapist is an idiot.
  6. Wouldn't surprise me if they were separate systems. But the fault still lies fairly squarely on the shoulders of a non-white non-man person -somewhere- plain to see, didn't need The Rapist pointing it out to us.
  7. Plane crash - I was about to comment how Trump, most powerful man (?) in the world thinks it was all down to a non-white non-man air traffic controller (he didn't specify the gender, race or religion).
  8. I tend to just watch out the window when the road is closed, spot the car go left, spot the car go right 30 seconds later. No doubt cursing that they didn't take the 1 minute longer detour - always well signed too - but now have a 5 minute detour to turn and take it.
  9. Sorry Gareth, Friday and End of the month coinciding, the pitfalls of project work - I have to work a little today and off the ball on this one.... Sarcasm. Noted.
  10. That's my point. It's not. It is such a tiny - tiny portion of people that space it is taking in your head is well out of proportion. And harming no one at that too,
  11. ... but there is also 66 million other French people, and you are getting worked up over an end of the news report story of 1 person? Perhaps time to get a reality check? - No harm caused to me - No harm caused to you - ... or anyone - So what's the problem?
  12. Could probably build a couple of runways at the other airports for that, bring jobs to other areas of the country.
  13. There were reports a while ago that targeted fertilising rather than blanket spreading or by date ("1st March, lets fertilise regardless") can reduce the amount used, have the same yields and save the farmers time and money.
  14. See... a helpful discussion on a third runway, insightful. "Calm down. Lunacy. Mild insults"... I summed up your post in 5 words. What was the point in you posting a news story if you are unable to offer a single thought on it? I forget.. Yes, back to your 'Daily Starmer' reports of what the Labour party are doing. Bring something fresh to the discussion and people might... might, well, discuss.
  15. ... however instead of commenting on the actual news story you went off onto one of your 'daily politics' rants. How about we look at the benefits or otherwise of another runway at Heathrow... which was the 'making the news today' ? The "Everything labour do is shit" rhetoric you are pushing wasn't in the story at all (pick a story, any story, link it to the current government add in Milliband, or Reeves with "utter madness" and I can make up any one of your posts, almost like AI without the I) My thoughts are that the UK is too focussed on London, we should be looking to develop away from the capital. For example, 2 of our exports mentioned in the article (on the assumption they are flown to the US) being Scottish Salmon and Whisky.. so why fly them to London and then fly them to the US... why not bung them on a plane at Prestwick.. and bring jobs and money to the provinces. Hows that for a starter. I don't expect that you, JohnsonD will manage a paragraph without resorting to your usual rants and insults... but lets see.
  16. Falling soot - did you notice anything on the grate afterwards, that would indicate falling soot Was just going to add to Spudulikes comment, our house is fairly standard 2 story and I recon on using 7 1.5m flexible rods to sweep it (I think, might be 😎
  17. Might need to get your head in the stove for a good look but angled to go up above a bracket would be my guess - however for information and you have it in place again, how did you do it?
  18. Ahhh, we're doing politics today, the never ending government bashing? (Edit: If only there was a thread for those who don't think Labour are doing a good job instead of.... every thread ever) A point of interest, it's 5 years since the UK left the EU... those new bright sunny heartlands... 350millions to the NHS, fishermen catching all our fish in our sovereign waters (and not just mackerel), seamless exports to the EU (but restrictions on their imports), massive profitable trade deals with the rest of the world (but none to the EU), UK citizens travel to Europe as before (but they are limited to travel here), immigration levels falling, home grown doctors falling over themselves to work, nurses coming out of our ears, leading the world in everything, the world being our oyster (as long as the oysters are taken from the River Severn, that sounds about right). All because we don't like the Belgians. 5 years of unrivalled growth (spell checker humour wanted this to be unravelled). This time next year we'll be millionaires. How is that playing out?
  19. DIY Option: If this is the only tree you might cut up, then by the time you buy a saw and all the PPE, the cost will be nearly equal to paying someone to deal with it. Take a chance to sell the saw on afterwards and you might get do it cheaper... if you own a saw or want one anyway this is an option. Looks like the trunk is fairly settled on the ground so with care, appropriate safety kit and thought you should be able to clear away most of the branches with a smaller saw, cut them to size for firewood - looks like you have space to split them and let them dry? Trunk is going to be about 2m useful length above the fence line? Might get someone local to offer you something for that.... and the easier it is to remove the better.
  20. That's right, whatever.
  21. Is that what you say JohnsonD? Relentless attempts at political point scoring. Or it could be that your posts are a reflection of your astonishment of how the world works because you've been living 50+ years with your head firmly planted up your own hole. Not sure which it is. Businesses not obliged to use cash has always been a thing.. I am guessing the only reason you mention it is trying make a political point... but forgetting that ALL previous governments have similarly not enforced that as a law. A child like attempt at political point scoring, do be a good chap and try better
  22. Likewise, still got the ZX81, learnt the basics of programming on that, ZX81 Magazine, type in the code and watch the program fail to run. "Syntax error: Line 479"
  23. Back on topic.. derail it again after me.. We used to split garden bamboo canes when we were younger for kite spars, quite quick, just run a knife down them, if you like the bamboo idea but want it thinner. Might need to sand the edges after though. Think we split them 4 ways, some 8 ways but that's probably too thin.
  24. That's the merkin he is asking for isn't it?
  25. Woohoo!! I can do a simple screenshot... do you want to retract that? If I want to accept firewood and mushrooms only it is perfectly OK. As for someone who lives in Scotland, you will know as well as anyone else that you can spend your best Bank of Scotland note anywhere that accepts them... even if they are not legal tender. Legal tender of course refers only to what the banks have to live with. Not businesses. Here ends todays lesson. Editty!! That was from the BBC as well.
