  1. Please do share your scientific findings Dave?
  2. Are you talking from experience?
  3. Debris netting wont stop the rain getting in
  4. Do you have a seal between the plate they the cyclone is fitted too or is it just sitting on the bin? If just sitting do you get dust blowing out?
  5. Did you shake the crate to reduce the gaps?
  6. I don't think its down to being feisty really its about getting what you asked for If you asked for a steak in a restaurant and they gave you chicken you wouldn't tell them that's not what you ordered? I cant have sympathy for someone who lets a rouge walk all over them I would have a different attitude if the op had questioned the poor sellers who then in turn did nothing
  7. Why pay for an inferior quality product that isn't as advertised and not take this up with the seller?
  8. 485kg
  9. Maybe I should explain..... My interpretation of a firewood merchant is someone who primary income is from the sale of firewood vs a log seller who's primary income is from another source example tree surgeon So yes same thing at the end of the day the outcome being firewood for sale and both should have the same principles etc etc Iam not surprised that ones product is superior to the other as the surgeon isn't solely relying of the sale of the logs to survive Generally there is a price difference and for that reason the merchant has bigger overheads in supplying a better product I don't agree with the cowboys offering inferior products but its just life in my opinion If all you can source is wet inferior logs as I said previously you should take control plan ahead and take control seasoning yourself You have found kd imports which is not a new or emerging trade by the way its been around for at least the last 10 years and if that ticks all your boxes great
  10. Principle and ethics should be the same but clearly not. But yes indeed just words calling yourself any or all of the above. Just trying to make myself sounds more important I guess Not working though LOL
  11. Big difference in my opinion between log supplier and a firewood merchant Open to interpretation I suppose
  12. Clay. We pumped the water from the dips.
  13. Do a test patch without the geogrid and see how she goes. I did a 2 acre hardstand a good 5 years ago straight on the scraw during summer. 200mm of 3" c run and 100mm of 1.5" c run Vibrated each layer and she's barely shifted and its gets regular abuse from arctic wood lorries.
  14. Easiest way to get rid of the cowboys is too not put money in their pockets If you do buy from them and your not happy tell them, hassle them so hopefully they take note for the future No point in coming on here bitching about this industry if your gonna let the cowboys walk all over you
  15. Did you phone and complain?
  16. I retrieve 99% of the wider pieces, try not to give the customers anything to moan about. I sell these as chunky logs for folks with big stoves
  17. i dont mind a spitter, its the swallowers i dont trust
  18. Iam not supporting the rogues, far from it. All Iam saying is consumers and the op have to take some responsibility. You cant tar every firewood merchant with the same brush. If a merchant doesn't know the size of his bags from the offset alarm bells would be ringing in my head and I wouldn't buy from them
  19. I wouldn't be all that surprised to find that the washed salad requires a wash before consumption, would you? Rogues in every trade
  20. Valid point....... No space for cooker don't cook No space to store/season logs thus taking responsibility.....??
  21. Yup, expect it cooked but what would you do if it wasn't? Same with logs. If I spent 20 years being disappointed by restaurants yes i would go to a shop and cook myself, I would take responsibility
  22. Slightly wild idea......but the op could buy cheap unseasoned logs and season themselves Burn them when he thinks they are fully seasoned. This takes organisation though, so probably won't work.......... Crazy idea I know, sorry for my extreme thoughts
  23. Exactly. The customer has to take SOME responsibility. Rogues in every trade and industry fact of life unfortunately. As for log sizing one guy thinks they are split perfectly, one guy thinks they are too small and the next things too big. Huge range stoves these days its difficult to please everyone
  24. Id use a couple of d8's that'll do the job nicely
  25. Dude its only 150k extra to get it in another colour quit being a tight arse
