  1. I like that one! Maybe something like the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading regulations " ...mean you can’t mislead or harass consumers [voters] by, for example: -including false or deceptive messages -leaving out important information -using aggressive sales techniques" What we needed during the EU referendum!
  2. Totally agree that no newspaper is neutral/unbiased. I'd say that some newspapers are less trustworthy (Daily Hate Mail) than others tho! But that article is based on a pretty credible looking source. The academic study is all there available to read online. http://www.cream-migration.org/files/FiscalEJ.pdf "THE FISCAL EFFECTS OF IMMIGRATION TO THE UK* Christian Dustmann and Tommaso Frattini We investigate the fiscal impact of immigration on the UK economy, with a focus on the period since 1995. Our findings indicate that, when considering the resident immigrant population in each year from 1995 to 2011, immigrants from the European Economic Area (EEA) have made a positive fiscal contribution, even during periods when the UK was running budget deficits, while Non-EEA immigrants, not dissimilar to natives, have made a negative contribution. For immigrants that arrived since 2000, contributions have been positive throughout, and particularly so for immigrants from EEA countries. Notable is the strong positive contribution made by immigrants from countries that joined the EU in 2004." https://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/news-articles/1114/051114-economic-impact-EU-immigration
  3. I thought it was, allegedly, Mark accusing Matelot of accusing Mark of threatening to kill Matelot. What this thread needs is Kevin to join in and talk about his many experiences with foreign ladies. That seemed to be quite an effective way of diffusing the situation in the Trump thread!
  4. Nice!! Booze and an internet forum about politics and racism - cant see any problems occurring there!!
  5. I don't think reading the Guardian website will cure you of your bias Matelot. And I think those comments on the Guardian website are done by people like you who go on there to see what the other side are saying - not by your typical Guardian readers. Or even by professional trolls - many of those comments on the guardian and independent websites just seem very odd - probably not worth taking too much notice of them.
  6. Sorry, i was trying to be witty there Saying that he is nothing like a nazi - apart from the single biggest thing that defines a nazi!!
  7. Great looking machine! Always fancied doing something similar but don't have the mechanical/fabrication skills. I have a trailer/crane from Riko - Country 480, 3.8m with a meter extension - seems to be well made, nice to operate, well built etc. Always amazed at what it will lift for its size. Agree with TCD though, Farma are brilliant cranes
  8. And just want to say its unfair to call Matelot a Nazi. Hes nothing like a Nazi whatsoever (apart from sharing very similar ideologies of course) but apart from that its a really unfair comparison. Its funny how threads about Donald Trump/Brexit turn into a conversations about big subjects like religion, racism etc.. and not about politics that effects our lives. Cant help thinking all this is a deliberate distraction from things that are actually happening with the NHS, schools, prisons, social care, environment... Matelot, you're wasting your time directing so much anger towards various races, nations, cultures and anyone else who is worse off than yourself. Why don't you get angry at the people above you in society who are doing far more to f**k things up?
  9. I was referring specifically to the article headline that he posted. Just making the point that he had only showed the headline because the content of the article didn't really fit his argument! I wasn't denying that the abuse happened in Rotherham. Sorry to back track - this thread moves pretty quick!!
  10. You didn't present evidence of anything. You screen grabbed a headline without putting a link to the article because you knew that the content of the article didn't confirm your bias.
  11. What about Bexit? It's looking like a slow moving transatlantic pile up!
  12. Where did you quote "cultural enrichment" from? The only place I see that phrase used is from the anti-eu, anti-immigration types. Googling that phrase comes up with anti-eu/anti-immigration sites and YouTube videos. I'm not sure who she is - from a Greek myth? Again, a quick google search led to conspiracy type websites It seems that these 'liberal, leftist' ideas that outrage so many people on here are often cultivated in the minds of the people with the outrage.
  13. You can say that again!
  14. Try Carl Allerfeldt, I think his number will come up on google..
  15. Thanks Gareth, the Derwent definitely looks the more solid of the two
  16. Well there is hope.. Matelot is starting to listen to "expert" opinion Maybe he'll start to take notice of trusted institutions who produce evidence that contradict his views on immigration!
  17. Does anyone have experience with using a ram lock device for tractor security? Thinking of getting one - just wondered how effective they are. I think NFU give a discount on insurance if you use one which means they must be fairly well thought of.. This type if thing: CJ Supplies > Ram Lock Derwent Trading International Ltd - Specialise in locks for Agricultural and Plant vehicles
  18. Well he did say he likes to grab pussy (that was a reference to the cruel treatment of cats wasn't it?)
  19. Ahh yeah!! Hopefully the courts are applying the rule of law and defending the constitution. Does it not raise suspicion when a person or political movement encourages people to outright disbelieve the media and the judiciary? (Also the educational institutions) I'm just amazed at how people are so desperate to defend Trump - don't really understand why.. And at what point will his actions cross an ethical/moral line which will lose him support?
  20. Not sure I understand.. The courts are the establishment? Trumps's one of them? (One of what?)
  21. It's not just the media though, it's the US courts isn't it? Hasn't the ban been lifted now?
  22. That's what the problem is. That is the thing that has been deemed unconsticitution, unlawfull, unAmerican and damaging to American business by the US courts. I don't think its the thing of controlling who enters the US that is the problem - it's the sledgehammer approach he is taking of banning everyone. He promised to ban Muslims from entering the US in his election campaign and now he's doing it in a fairly crude way. Does anyone think this outrageous policy might just be a deliberate distraction?
  23. Yeah kind if agree with you there - not really our business what he does when it comes to domestic stuff in America. But the travel ban effects many people beyond America. And I think it is our business when it comes to the way our political leaders relate to him.
  24. He said he would not wish to issue an invitation for Trump to deliver an address to parliament - which I guess means that won't happen.
  25. Well done Mr Bercow! Donald Trump will not be allowed to address Parliament on UK state visit, Speaker John Bercow says | The Independent
