  1. You forgot to mention the bowling green massacre..
  2. Aren't you more worried by the poisonous bile and lies that spew from the mouth of the US president though?!
  3. So for all the problems with schools/NHS/welfare etc. (which are essentially to do with lack of funding) we are to blame the very poorest people in our society? Where do the people with LOTS of money come into this? And which group do you think Farage/Aron banks/Rupert Murdoch (and all the other people telling you to hate migrants) represent? "the vast bulk of migrants are a drain to the UK". Are you sure about that?!
  4. Maybe it belongs in the "show us your lever mounts" thread... but could you show us your lever mounts? I'd be interested to see how you've done it as there's not a lot of space in the back of the A series. Thanks
  5. Well they do say all the best comedians are left wing!! Anyone who is un decided about this guys opinions should watch his video about feminism...
  6. "They're criminals, they're rapists... Some of them are nice people" Must be a very small section of migrants who have a greater propensity to commit rape. When migrants are mentioned we seem to imagine the worst type of people. Migrants or immigrants cover a fairly broad range - including students, doctors, nurses, families etc.. which is why I imagine statistics don't highlight the extremely negative cases. In my experience people are generally decent whichever part of the world they come from. And yeah good point about the bbc. It was obviously a massive failure not to report that story sooner
  7. I think I have heard these stories talked about on the BBC. I image certain media outlets will put more emphasis on them than others as they fit nicely into a certain agenda.. BTW I'm not a massive fan of the bbc either but I don't think it's the propaganda machine it's made out to be! I see news on the MSM as being derived from fact but with a certain bias placed on it depending on the ideology of the outlet. Looking at a mixture of bbc, RT, Fox, Aljazeera etc. you start to understand where things stand I suppose. Newspapers are generally news based opinions IMHO and these YouTube alternative news sites (left and right) are generally BS!
  8. Why wow!! Explain to me how feminism and black lives matter is anti freedom of speech. I genuinely don't understand! (And Matelot - that is one of his opinions I find 'vile')
  9. Brilliant video I agree he's bang on the money there about it being a failure of the left. I just don't see the likes of Breitbart, Info Wars and those two smug tw*ts shown in the videos above as an answer. The MSM may lie to us but nothing like to the extent that these outlets do - they are creating some kind of an alternative reality where facts, science, educated opinion is all a conspiracy. They tell us we are being lied to while blatantly lying to us in order to take the argument from a factual one to a purely emotional one. Just as the Brexit campaign tried to do and also the Trump campaign. I don't think rejecting the current 'liberal' politics should involve rejecting our current value system. The argument has been framed as between two opposing forces of left and right. So if you don't like the current way of things then the 'right' is the alternative. I try to see things more in terms of my own personal values than between left and right
  10. So it would seem. And sensible is the new liberal, left-wing, politically correct...
  11. Obviously a smart guy but completely vile in his opinions/ideologies. He certainly destroyed that interviewer if it was about who is more of a smug a**hole. Admittedly I couldn't watch the whole interview I don't get the freedom of speech argument. How is feminism and black lives matter opposed to freedom of speech?
  12. How is Bernie Sanders seen by people like yourself who detest both Trump and Clinton? Do you think he would have beat Trump if he'd been the Democrat candidate?
  13. Having just watched Carol Vorderman eat a cows anus on I'm a celebrity, I am now 100% convinced there is no God..
  14. I believe richard1234 should be allowed to say that on this thread as long as he is willing to argue his point, just as I believe Matelot should be made to justify his views towards immigrants. 'Political correctness' has disappeared out of the window in these politics themed threads long ago, which I think is what makes them so interesting. Accusations of racism are offensive, but I think Matelots apparently dogmatic belief that 'immigrants' are to blame for most political problems could also cause deep personal offence to many people as well. I don't think that's a reason to shut him up or kick him off the site tho, just a reason to keep arguing (and for Matelot to keep on repeating the same argument!! )
  15. Perfect opportunity for the Tories to hand over a load of NHS social care services to Richard Branson while we're distracted
  16. Was collecting the alpine tractor from site yesterday, just thought it was looking rather photogenic...
  17. You think Trump supporters would have accepted defeat peacefully, with dignity and decorum? Probably most would as i imagine most Hilary supporters have. But you'd have to be crazy to think there wouldn't be a large minority who'd kick off big time!! What about the talk of a rigged election, of Trump saying he may not accept the result and there was plenty of predictions (or threats) of civil unrest if Hilary won? All the conspiracy talk before the result was in preparation for a defeat.. There will be plenty of protest and peaceful opposition to Trump from all types/ages/background of people who are decent, intelligent and compassionate. Labelling all protesters as being of a type and calling them 'libtards' is just like trying to shut down any dissent
  18. I thought the election was rigged? or was that only if Hilary won! Things were always going to kick off after such a divisive election campaign whichever side won. I guess if Trump actually tries to do some of the things he promised (like the mass deportations) then things will get a whole lot worse
  19. Would devon be too far away? I am felling a load of mixed conifer this winter on Dartmoor, I think around 85 cubic meters will be biggish WRC. I'm not marketing the timber but I could pass on your details if your interested. Timber should be roadside by just before christmas
  20. How do you think it would be playing out if it we're Donald vs Bernie??
  21. From London School of Economics: http://cep.lse.ac.uk/pubs/download/brexit05.pdf
  22. "The voice of America" giving a view on immigration Some good points from a NON beard wearing, sandal wearing, yogurt eating liberal, elitist, university educated, blah blah.... Thought it was quite funny though:biggrin: I think the problem politicians like Rudd have at the moment is that they are required to be seen to be doing something about immigration without actually wanting to do anything about it. And it's probably because measures to reduce immigration would be too damaging to the country. Tories are ruthless and will say anything to gain power and remain in power.. Any ideas for political measures to get tough on immigration will always be comparable to Facism - because it requires turning a complex situation into a matter of dividing the good from the bad or the useful ones from the ones who are a drain on the nation. Would seem most proper academic research supports the idea that immigration is not damaging the economy, jobs market etc. Giving credibility to the same old anti immigration sentiment will just drag this country down
  23. There's a tidy looking N92 for sale at GS Brown Valtra N92 | Doesn't seem to be so many used tractors around at the moment, a dealer I spoke to said more are being exported now because of the exchange rate.
  24. I went to look at an A95 last week. Very little space for your legs when the seat is spun around and I imagine some modification to the back window would be required to accommodate the crane controls. Really nice simple little tractor but came away thinking the 6000 series (or N series) is the sensible choice..
