Yes and no Les more no in reality 😆this model is a much more capable machine by a country mile, but I do miss the simplicity of the previous one. If I’m honest Les I’d say the first Trakmet I had was far better built, not that this one isn’t just the other one was spot on everywhere, I think as they have got bigger the quality control might have slipped a bit. The retrofitting of a VFD was absolutely the best thing I did on this one, basically transformed the machine . I’m currently running at 35hz as opposed to 50hz which gives an equivalent percentage reduction in blade speed, the speed of cut and consistency is 100% improved. I pretty much parked it up for 6 months whilst waiting for the vfd after purchasing as it wouldn’t cut big hardwood for shit, I had a rather heated conversation with the importer on the subject, anyone looking to buy a Trakmet should insist the VFD is fitted at the factory imo. I’ve a solution for the generator and towing being worked on Les as it’s a heavy bugger even for my 3.2 Ranger vanity van.
