I’ve just read the last few pages posts out to the dive team here including two local St Vincent guys, a crane op from Jamaica and a concrete pump operator from Suriname who is Muslim, the general consensus is the guy was a bloody fool ( including from our Muslim teammate here). As for those arguing about racism 🤷♂️🤷♂️ the phrase “ ****************ing idiots” might have been heard amongst the laughter. Anyway it was a great laugh to end to a good week.

Because the accident was in the news or on an HSE post on LI, the other gentleman you mention I have no knowledge of seeing as I’ve not scoured the internet and the HSE website for white people who have had accidents at work. Plus the absolute rank stupidity of the person concerned who chose to pray under a car. Question answered. Now can you sort out those loose ends on anther forum.

I tend to think that’s not the case. Zero spacial awareness or focus on his surroundings for starters and secondly being on his knees with his forehead on the ground will have significantly impaired ( at 58) his ability to react to the situation. All in all a bloody stupid thing to do. But he wasn’t nor would anyone with half a brain do any of what you suggest under the car.

Caused in no small part by his own stupidity. Praying on his knees not paying attention under a suspended load. We have HSE diving inspectors on the vessel periodically SP who will spend the whole trip watching, interviewing, looking through every piece of client/contractor documentation etc etc I know how the HSE work as an organisation, I’ve seen them put prohibition and improvement notices in and prosecute companies within my own industry ( not a secret like yours) I know without doubt the fact an individual chose to pray “ UNDER” a suspended load in a workplace would not be just ignored as inconsequential.
