  1. Im assuming you put the hand ascender underneath the zigzag? Which one have you got?
  2. Got a cambium saver, haven't used it yet though (started pissing it down both times before i could have another go). The adjustable bridge looks really good definitely will pick one of those up. Those teeth on the pantin look really fierce, do they not damage the rope?
  3. Been out to play with my kit a couple times now and while ascending isnt too difficult, no reason not to make it easier and quicker. What do you use to make ascending with the zigzag easier?
  4. It deserves to be the same level but people don't understand nor care, it's just a tree to them, most people ive spoken to also have no idea how dangerous it is. I wonder if plumbing/sparking can demand wages like that because everybody knows you don't go with a guy who doesn't have all the correct certs and stuff, the same can't be said about tree work.
  5. Use a BG85 at work does the job well, though i havent used anything else.
  6. Yeah this is something my boss has drilled into me, im proper lucky boss is a good teacher.
  7. Yeah ive got most of the stuff with the rest arriving soon and am borrowing my bosses saw/tools til i get my own. I'll bear that in mind and will practice what you said. Thanks.
  8. Got my course coming up two weeks time and climbing course a month after that and been preparing. Just want to make sure I know all the things I need to, Any help is really appreciated. (Doing the course at TKF in Holmfirth.) Thanks.

  16. I think it has more to do with the current university culture. Im 20 and a year and a half out of college. They push you going to uni so much, It's seen as a bit off to not want to go now (I'd rather be outside than pushing a pencil all day!) The if you don't go to uni you will fail kind of thing gets pushed on you a lot too. Also a lot of people look down on manual labour type jobs. Roofers, bricklayers etc are all seen as working class, dirty, crap jobs by a worrying amount of people I know. Lots of my peers are too pissy to just get their hands dirty. My sister is a nurse, She gets an alright wage but for the amount of free work she gave the NHS in training and the hours she does now it just doesn't quite add up. Im also not suprised nobody wants to become a teacher, With the state its in at the moment.
  17. Do i want a prusik loop or just some friction cord? Or shall i just get both? Edit: what mm is best too?
  18. Been going through this guys videos but ive watched them all and looking for more to watch. What are you favourite channels and videos related to arb/climbing?
  19. I live near Northern Arb supplies so i'll head down there and see what suits me best. Thanks for the input.
  20. Shiny Stuff! Shiny Stuff! My boss uses a 1.5m strop and is constantly bashing his chainsaw about which I don't fancy so I'll try the bungee, It's not expensive to get a different strop so I can always switch.
  21. Im going with a bungee strop for my saw. The art positioner looks ace and its seems a lot of people on here love it so might go with that, What rope do you use with your ART?
  22. Putting together my first kit for my cs 38/39 and work after, already posted a thread over in SRT And just wanted to get your guys opinion on Karabiners (just noticed I spelt it wrong ) Thanks.
  23. Blue tongue is 11.7m

  25. Ive been googling around and searching but the search feature seems to throw up mostly unrelated posts. Or I am just bad at searching. Thanks for the response anyhow.
