One of my customers we have worked for a few times now really is amazing. The last couple of times we have been to him he has served good coffee with bacon and egg baps, wait for it, TWO baps per team member. Total star. Oh yes, he also pays up the same day. -

Similar with me, started at 41, still climbing at 64. While I would never pretend to be able to access the crown as fast as a young climber, nor to being able to do delicate crown reductions (can with my mewp😀) I think experience and confidence helps massively. I have had several young climbers work with me over the years and only one has had the confidence to drop large sections by free fall or lowering to maximise the available drop zone. I guess the difference here is that I am running my own small business and can choose which jobs to take on, whereas an employed climber doesn't have that luxury.

I don't really know what to suggest would be a fair price, but the asking price certainly sounds a lot to me. I take the view that used arb vans should be priced on age and mileage, not registration year. I have a 2015 Iveco daily with high spec and very good enclosed chip box and tool locker, with 46,000 miles on it. I would guess that £15,000 + VAT would be a reasonable price for this. Not sure about the chassis type on Cabstar, but I prefer open C section chassis rails, rather than tinny box section, due to better corrosion resistance.

Morning all, Quite a heavy frost here today. Was planning to start work on a parish council job (flexi re time) but it involves a slippery moss covered path for a lot of the work. Going to work at home on a decent surface taking out a conifer hedge ready for replacing with something that doesn't get red spider mite. Stay warm and safe all.

I had a Stihl MS150T several years ago. I was perfectly happy with it, but eventually sold it. Can't remember why, there was nothing wrong with it. For the last six years I have had a couple of Echo 2511tes's and i love them. Recently changed over to Panther 1/4 chain and bar, still on on the 10 inch bar though, and it has improved the performance a lot. I have not carried out any other mods. In summary, I love the Echo.

Cats and dogs here. Mixture of pottering in the sheds and lazy day. Well, it is my birthday, so damned if I am going out on site in this weather. looks good for the rest of the week, so can't complain too much. Must remember to drain down the steam cleaner before any cold snap can wreak havock with it! Have a good day all.

You are so unreasonable, only mentioning the elitist non metric units. What about the half miller's thumb and the weaver's bottom?

It passed with no problems. Mind you has a galvanised chassis and does 250 miles or so a year, when we need the pto winch. No problems with the Adblue sensor either, nor the engine management warning light.

Another dry day, even sunshine today. Taking the old series 3 Land Rover in for MOT this morning. Even though exempt I prefer the reassurance of "doing things properly". Hope those of you going through a bad patch find things improve soon.

You may well find it doesn't become an issue, but it does progress generally (not sure if always). Mine has taken 20 years to get to a point where it needs doing on the one hand, and the other is only just starting to show. If you want to see a severe example try to catch a glimpse of Bill Nighy's hands. Not sure why he left his untreated.

Morning all, First day of a two day job cutting back laurels, yews and conifers for a regular customer who didn't get it done last year. Oh, how they hold all that water on their leaves at this time of year😂 Almost makes the looming recovery period from having my Dupytren's contracture treated look appealing. Might start a thread on that? Dupytren's is very common in our line of manual work.
