  1. He won the popular vote, so...
  2. Too complicated. To make it valid there would need to be trailer registration as with cars. VIN numbers stamped on all trailers etc etc. Domestic and light commercial trailers are too "mobile" to be plugged into the system, bought and sold, borrowed etc, ergo the onus is on the towing party to ensure whatever trailer they are towing is roadworthy. Nothing to stop anyone getting a mechanic to check their trailer. But they're so simple anyone can reasonably assess their roadworthiness. Bearings. Hitch play. Structural rust. Mudguards falling off. Lights. The only thing a mechanic might* pick up what an average person wouldn't is the condition of the overrun breaks. If a person caused or contributed to an accident, on account of their trailer being unroadworthy, that would be grounds for denial of coverage. Hence it's in our interest of self protection and the common weal to ensure our trailers are that. And visibly dangerous trailers enforced by police or similar. But to enforce a mandatory test cert system would be too difficult. Too much scope for cheating.
  3. With flashlights, high CRI (colour rendition index). The higher, the closer to full spectrum sunlight. For headlamps where you are actually working with the light for hours and hours, it makes the world of difference. 99% of internet lights and 100% of shop bought lights go for lumens over CRI.
  4. I had mine balanced. Did get a funny look from the tyrestop guy but he did it.
  5. So was the neighborhood "enriched" by the encampment then? What happened?
  6. Agreed 👍. And also be more honest what kind of house they live in. Far too many older people own houses that are bigger than what they really need. Using more than their fair share of fuel/electric to heat etc.
  7. A pretty shocking read... Have you checked the suspension units are properly aligned? If the alignment is a bit out, it puts a side pressure on the wheels, you know the thing in the pamphlets in the waiting area at the DOE garage, about "Every km your misaligned wheel is being dragged 10m sideways" type of thing. A side pull could rip the stub out. Could be one or both of your suspension units were bolted or welded on slightly out of square..
  8. The root of the faux moral outrage on the left (and trad right) is loss of control. The old establishment lost its power. And the people who linked their own little lives and minds to the old establishment, to vicariously enjoy the power, lost their power position as well.
  9. Mine has the rear green life support ring, which I do attach the saw lanyard to. Also has red webbing "handles" left & right of the rear green ring. On close inspection these webbing sections are not sewn into the harness and would actually rip away with sufficient force. The way they're attached though I believe it would still take a powerful force to break them free, probably more than I'd like to experience aloft. Also I wonder about the effects of the redirection of force through the lanyard, ie the real world differences of breaking at the saw vs breaking at the harness?
  10. Yeah no problem 👍 Didn't know about the breakaway on the harness option. Don't think my TreeMotion has one. I should research it..
  11. It's the new normal 🙂
  12. At the risk of being a safety nanny... have you considered putting a weak link between you and the saw? Like the top handle saws have, the little folding clip will fail if the bar gets stuck in a branch as it separates from the tree. It's not happened to me yet, but I suppose it does happen occasionally to someone somewhere. There's a destructive test (TÜV) video on the tube where they pull a real Stihl and a clone apart with a machine and measure the force. Loop on the handle, bar bolted to a frame. The Stihl took a ferocious amount of force to break.
  13. Here's what's going to happen in the next few years, chaps: Russia and USA will become friends. China/Russia/US trifecta. There's your multipolar world order for the remainder of the 21st century. European countries will vote populist right and join the new order as second fiddle or...fade away. And that includes the UK.
  14. Auld Elon is tearing the arse out of the deep state. Long March meets Blitzkrieg. Trump to meet with President Putin in Moscow teed up, realistic peace negotiations finally on the horizon. And the cognitive dissonance of the libs is off the charts like we have never seen before, in our lifetime. Good times, good times... 🇺🇲
  15. The reality of time delay ("forever") makes a case for a "cheap" drill powered ascender and a dedicated rescue line. Just to facilitate getting the other guy in the crown in a timely manner.
  16. My money says probably would be a strain on the machine. 1/2" is some heavy stuff. The blades are angled to cut perpendicular wood grain, not plastic.
  17. Should have asked Gemma to help unload the timber.
  18. Unconditional Discharge 🤗 "God speed" 😆 Did anyone else catch Sky News grilling the mayor of LA? She was mute as a mute thing... Diverted 20 million from the LA fire service and spent it on rainbow stuff and the police. Don't know why the police need more money, a couple years ago they were all about "de-funding" the police. And crime has dropped massively in LA since the city council legalized shoplifting and petty theft. Weird.. The decades long pathological refusal to control burn the undergrowth is the issue. Climate cultists.. the native Americans were control burning since thousands of years, I read.. Yeah, California has some weird laws around water and special minnows. It was a problem a decade ago and it's a problem now. And it all their own stupid fault. Vote stupid, get stupid outcomes... What can you do but shrug?
  19. They really, really needed to stick the "convicted rapist" badge on Trump, but people didn't believe it. A little investigation and intellectual honesty showed the whole thing was a lawfare hit-job. If the flagrantly sleasy way the trial was conducted, the people involved in the prosecution, and even the law being changed to facilitate the case being brought, wasn't enough, check this out. E. Jean Carroll wasn't surprised 'Law & Order: SVU' aired Bergdorf Goodman rape scene 7 years before she made Trump allegations WWW.BUSINESSINSIDER.COM A 2012 episode of the"Law & Order: SVU" referencing a rape in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room...
  20. Woke bullying doesn't affect me any more, I acquired natural immune to it. Have you ever tried proactively debunking the leftist/liberal outrage talking points? Like, for example, take a liberal media outrage story about a teenage girl in Texas dying of sepsis, input her name into google followed by "debunked". You get a whole nother narrative and facts which were previously omitted. The picture becomes more complicated and neuenced. Doesn't mean it's stops being tragic, but it puts thing in perspective. When everything is broad strokes and moral rage, the details get ignored. Thing is, perspective can only be reached when we want it. Telling others about the omitted facts is met with denial. The curiosity has to come from within. I was attempting to reflect back at you the kind of mechanistic moralistic generalities the leftist establishment has forced on us for years. **************** the individual, the greater good etc. They zoom in on a minority case, dramatize it, sentimentalize it, then call for a draconian societal overhaul based on emotion aroused by said case. Granted, the "right" does it too, and it stinks. And the right also get hysterical about stuff for agitprop purposes.
  21. Noted, thanks, but what is the biological mechanism by which they get torsioned? Also, real men voted for Harris
  22. Why do testicles get torsioned and how do we prevent it? (Better than cure).. Also, the deaths from abortions bans (very rare) will be vastly offset by increased live births. For the good of the many, and stuff. Like with Covid ("**************** your freedoms") Leftist values etc..
  23. Send them over here, Donald. They'll be good for the UK economy.. 👍
  24. Nah. BRICS is leveling up the global south. Birth rates are falling worldwide, less babies, more jobs = less migration. At the same time, the west is getting poorer, in real terms. And now with the rightward shift in USA it will get tougher on migration. Less attractive to migrants as time goes by.
  25. Not this time, the political and cultural scenery has radically changed. Notice how there's no pushback from the Dems this time? They're done, cooked. This time, the team will be solid, no more Bolton's and Tillersons. He owns social media this time. The mainstream media have surrendered. Yep, the signs are there to see...
