  1. You got a job on with BigJ then? 🤣
  2. Was there two years ago. I'm just waiting for "grab a jab" to be the new Saturday night game show 😉
  3. Time to move on from the so called "tradition" of hunting. Has no place in society and should be consigned to the history books. Nothing to do with pest control, never has been and never will be. Taking out the sick and injured, what a joke, no sport in that! Nice big healthy stag that will run for hours, that's the target. Watching the followers and the quad and motorbike mounted riders when they can sense a kill, is such intense blood lust that it's quite scary. Animal abuse, pure and simple.
  4. Funny you should say that. I have asked the question. Apparently, the "terriers like a day out". As you say, this swift nip to the neck that gets banded about, what a load of bollox!
  5. Unless they have changed, they aren't 100% waterproof and not very breathable. They are a well built boot with a very grippy vibram sole. A lot of motorcycle boots are made from the same material.
  6. Me. Hoping to fit in the 35 CPC hours I need to get my first card over the next few weeks and then start job hunting.
  7. I had a light seizure on my 560xp a few weeks ago. Spent an hour or so with some wet and dry to clean the piston and pot. Managed to remove all traces of the seizure and one genuine piston ring later, the saw has been working hard again brashing and felling. Take the pot off for a proper look.
  8. Just handy when you are buttressing up big softwoods and the right hand side of the saw is against the tree.
  9. Is it possible to get outer felling/bumper spikes for the 400?
  10. I would also go with the Dolmar/makita 6100. Good solid old school saw and can't think of a better new saw for the money.
  11. Been using the 400 all day today felling spruce and douglas. Cracking saw and highly recommend it. But why oh why has Stihl given it a smaller tank than a 560! It just seems like it is always coming to the end of a tank.
  12. Stihl HP super ok for a 400 or does it have to be ultra?
  13. My local dealer just got two in, so I may have to get one. They have been told they won't be getting any more saws in until August and waited ages for these. Do they make noticeably more power than the 560?
  14. Looking to replace a very hard working 560 that has just had a light seizure, will fix, but need another saw sharpish, bad pun, sorry😀
  15. I was working with a guy the other week that was using one, I meant to grab a go, but somehow didn't. It sounded like a right screamer and they feel nice in the hand.
  16. Anyone use an ms400 in forestry and rate it as a good saw for the job? Don't need to know that I should be getting a 462 or 572 thanks, just thoughts on the 400 please. Attracted by the light weight and seems to make good power.
