  4. Having just written off a chain... Grumble, why do people hammer six inch nails into trees...Grumble... Does any one have a suggestion for a reasonable detector or magnetic gizmo... New chain snafued.....
  5. Does the wood need to be seasoned or will green be okay? Also are any other species suitable, thinking Ash, Larch and Douglas Fir? What is the spec on size and thickness? Chris

  9. Is it not worth getting milled?
  10. I have tried searching to see if this has been raised before, but couldn't find a relevant post. I have a Stihl 076 which requires a fuel mix of 40:1, how would it cope with 2S Aspen which is the equivalent of 50:1? Advice would be welcomed. Is anybody already running the bigger older Stihl's on Aspen? Cheers, Chris

  13. I find my PTO sawbench the safest and easiest way to deal with the horrors at the bottom of the pile. Oh hang on I'm in Wales what is a straight piece of wood.....

  15. Big thing with Manitou's is availability and cost of spares.
