  1. If you could only pick 5 different saws past or present what would you choose ? I'll kick it of with the following Stihl ms200t Husqvarna 346xp Husqvarna 560xp Husqvarna 372xp Stihl ms660
  2. If your gonna chip leylandi in 9" diameter your gonna need a 12" chipper at least I never chip anything over 3" anything over goes for firewood
  3. Anything stihl or husqvarna for the hedge cutters, I've used tanaka before very reliable but they don't cut through thicker material like the stihl or husqvarna because the blades are shorter and have less gap. I'm currently using Husqvarna 325hd hedge cutters and they've run faultless for 3 year now, stihl are equally as good but I prefer the feel of the huskys better. As for mowers I agree with the izzy there ultra reliable and perfect for small grass cutting jobs where the clippings have to be collected, for the rougher jobs I have a big Viking mulching mower that I don't really rate as it seems very underpowered compared to the John Deere mulched I had previously.
  4. I was using a GM arborist 150 on Friday and was shocked how many times the rollers jammed at one point it jammed solid on a branch fork that was no thicker than 3 inches, I had to turn the machine off climb in the hopper and cut the fork with a silky to un jam it, all in all it was piss poor compared to the old timberwolf 150 that would of took everything that day in it's stride.
  5. They've started doing them for the bigger saws now I had some for my 371
  6. I first bought them for the top handle saw and thought they were brilliant, real hard wearing just a bit grabby at first so I purchased a few for the bigger saws but they didn't feel good at all, I noticed the finish on the chains was quite poor compared to the stihl and oregon chains I normally use and I think this was causing a lot of vibration on the bar as I was cutting, from now on I'll just use them for the top handle.
  7. It's for the Eliet prof 4 hydro I'm not sure with having a proper look tomorrow but I think there's 12 blades
  8. Anyone on here use Eliet shredders or know where I can buy replacement blades for one ?
  9. I only have stihl top handles and an old 066 all the others are huskys, IMO there mid range saws are top class
  10. I sold my husky 540 just couldn't get on with it at all, weak Av spring and didn't feel well balanced in the hand, i prefer the ms201 but neither are a patch on my ms200t and I prefer 12" bars on them all
  11. I've got an older eliet prof hydro (hydraulic feed roller) and it's a brilliant piece of kit handles conifer far better than the Timberwolf 150 DHB, it has 2 screens for chip size and will take a 3 inch branch no problem. The only thing I hate about mine is that it only shreds onto the floor.
  12. Oregon bar Everytime the huskys loose paint in a day
  13. Sounds about right then 211/black 023 230 & 250/ orange 240 & 361 white
  14. Thanks for that but out of all the saws the ms240 is the only one I haven't managed to get running yet lol
  15. I've just recently purchased a few ex hire stihl chainsaws from auction but as I've always owned an used husqvarna saws I don't know which stihl models are classed as pro saws and which are not, the saws I've just purchased are as follows 023, 211, 230, 240, 250 and a 361 I wreckon the 211 is a homeowner saw and the 361 a pro saw but it's the other 4 I can't tell much difference between ? Can anyone enlighten me as to which is the best of that bunch as I want to keep a couple for backup saws.
  16. Mines 3 year old now but not used constantly If the chain dulls I get a different saw out til I can be bothered to sharpen the chain lol
  17. By best I mean, best to use, power, vibe levels etc, compared to my other saws it's like using Ferrari instead of a subaru, maybe they won't last as long but there a joy to use and I suppose like anything else high performance usually means high maintenance. I have a 346, 435, 350, 357, 266, 560 and a 371 in the shed at home all good saws for different reasons but the 560 is the one I normally go for first now
  18. Yes loads, Infact I've got far to many saws mainly 50-70cc and the 560xp pisses on any other in it's class but I've yet to try the 361 but I doubt it's gonna be better
  19. Won't it affect the running with it been auto tune ?
  20. Husky 560xp IMO is the the best 60cc saw ever produced
  21. Isn't there a council tip local ?, here in West Yorkshire they charge £28 a ton for green waste

    Husky 350e

I had a 350 but just couldn't get on with it because it felt really slow in the cut compared to my other saws (346,357,560,371) and it constantly had a pool of chain oil underneath it.
  23. I've just bought 6 stihl chainsaws from an auction all in very good condition just requiring bars and chains the biggest is the ms361 which I have intensions of keeping as a back up for my husky 560xpg but it would be replacing 357xpg if I decide to keep it, obviously I'll try it out a bit first to see if I can get on with a stihl but just wondered if anyone on here has had any problems with one. The 357xpg is 15 years old and never missed a beat but it's starting to take about 6 pulls of the cord now before it fires so I guess it's getting a little tired. Any advice would be much appreciated.
