  1. Hi I am looking to get into arboriculture & tree surgery. I have NPTC Level 201,202 (CS30) & CSCS/LISS card & I will take more tickets as I can. This is a new career path I have taken this year, having gained some experience in clearing fallen trees, coppicing, hedge laying, fencing & plenty of brash dragging. What I lack in experience I more than make up in a desire to learn & do well. I hope to be a good ground worker & to climb at some point. I'm available for full or part-time work & given a little time think I would be an asset. I'm based nr Stamford, Lincs Please message me if you have any work or feedback. Thanks for reading Dan
  2. to be fair, the jobs I've looked at just ask for CSCS card, if you want to get onsite go on the CSCS site and apply for the labourer/construction site operative card(green), it'll save you time & money. I did the ROLO test today & it was the same sort of questions and cost £100!!,,
  3. The worst people to live next to are your neighbours
  4. Hi, I've started applying for the card, it was really confusing. CSCS/LISS have colaborated to make the same card. To get this you need to sit a CITB HS&E test (touch screen, £17.50) then a 1 day ROLO HS&E (£100-£150 full day test) this was really hard to book, ended up ringing around lots of centres. Then the card (green operative card) is another £38 when you have the first parts. Call BALI 024 7669 0333 ask to speak to Rebecca Consolaro, she knows the most. Hope this helps, took me a week to work out. I have an email they sent me I can forward to you if you need Cheers,,,,,Dan

  13. Hi, I am very keen to get in to tree surgery/arboriculture. I have worked in hospitality most of my life and am looking to change. I am in partnership in a bar/restaurant/music venue, so have business knowledge & customer skills. I am looking to offer working in return for experience I have my own PPE & will be taking level 2 (CS30) assessment this Friday(21st Feb) over the last 2 months I have gained experience in hedge laying, fencing, coppicing, cutting & clearing & basic chainsaw work I would be available around Peterborough Cambridge,Grantham,Corby,Nuneaton,Leicester,Kings Lynn areas or further if I can sort accommodation. Thanks for reading,,,,,Dan
  14. got this old planker at the college if you don't want to send the wood to the mill:biggrin:
  15. Just make sure you get one with a tang right through the handle. Yes the old one are good, if they're still around now then they've stood the test of time. I got a lovely Berkshire pattern one on Ebay, but obviously you can't handle it 'till it arrives. Sharpening properly is essential, also polishing the blade makes it easier to work with.. Cheers,,,,,Dan
  16. Hey all, I've booked a CITB h&s test, but been told I need the '1 day ROLO Health & Safety Awareness Course'. Do I need this & is there anywhere in Cambs,Lincs I can do this? cheers,,
