  1. Hi guys, Had problems with a 150 vario track. The rollers run fine then stop, wiggle the safety bar and it runs again then stops . Have tried wiggling the switch under the control panel which gets it going again but it is now stopped. Chipping fine just rollers dropping.
  2. No way round the electronics? My truck still thinks it's got rear air suspension. But then it's 13 yrs old and not that bright compared to later models.
  3. My disco 2 has straight through stainless. Sounds lurvly and was a lot cheaper then a 'proper' exhaust . It might scare the peacocks though.
  4. We live on a wide beam boat. We spend £100-£200 a month on diesel for the central heating plus if we had to pay for logs about the same on logs/coal. It's a constant battle to keep the damp out.
  5. Just the clutch mate. The lads I did a day with today thought they had all sorts of bother but no just clutch.
  6. All good and running now.clutch did the trick. Ta very much.
  7. Chain moves on tickover. Just bolting a new clutch in as I type.
  8. Stihl ms261 cuts out when chain brake applied also will not start with brake on.
  9. Hi all, does anyone know of any companys in the surrey area doing railway/tube work?
  10. i agree with all of the above. having fallen on a saw i am pleased that i have always clicked the break on.
  11. just bought a pair of meindle wood walkers. £149. comfy out of the box. last pair lasted five years, including climbing.
  12. just started to design a knife to go on harneses ect. got a mate who can make damascus blades. i currently work in outdoor retail plus do moutainering and arb. i sell petzle blades which are junk, Buck are very nice but not what is needed. working on the blade shape at the moment , plus sorting handle shape.
  13. you have got a friend for life with that. i got tennis elbow and ‘trigger finger’ back in ’09. still got it. and i have worked the last two years in retail, so no saws or other nasty vibrating machines. these days it only effects me in the cold and damp or when i have been at the climbing wall.
  14. hi guys, does hempstead plant still exist? tried calling them and cant get a person or an answer machine.http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/images/smiliesmodern/confused1.gif
  15. Merrist wood are charging me £750 for five days training, plus I then need to pay for the test , so add another £150. I wouldn't mind but after working on the saws for 11 years I have to do the full course and can't do the cheeper refresher course. Best part if of a months pay with my current job=(
  16. thats a grivel monta rosa crampon, the state its in makes me feel a bit ill. think i might need to polish my ice axe to stop the rocking.
  17. defo banned from up the tree. Why not have strap done up on the ground? What If you fall and knock your helmet of then knock your head? One big construction site expected four point fixing helmets with straps done up at all times , so we ended up complying to those regs.
  18. the elastic band strap for a start. end of the day its just a plastic bucket not a proper multi layered helmet.
  19. thanks for that. makes sense. i figure if the saw is in my face i might have more to worrie about then a small amount of slow down on the chain. my old firm only used petzle lids, we banned the husky ones as damned dangerous.
  20. i looked at these in honey brothers the other day, but having been informed that some councils dont like climbing helmets on the ground on site i didnt buy. does anyone know if the stein has enough “peak” to conform to tight H & S?
  21. Hi all, I am needing a new helmet. Having been away from the trade for a couple of years it seems the selection of head protection has widened a tad. said helmet needs to be for ground use. My budget is around the £100 mark. ideas please before I make the trip to my local arb emporium and get further confused by the salesman. And please no one sudgest a nasty orange pee pot with a 'h' on the front. Ta very much

So the implication is that just because Someone is female they should be happy with sexualized banter? That's rubbish. On my old firm which employed women groundworkers and climbers coments like that would get you in the office for a bol**king. We ain't in the 1950s

not sure why its just a climbers lid? had a look at one yesturday, those nice little grills over the vents stop all the small **** the climber is dropping getting in my (non existent) hair. or do we ground hogs have to put up with an outdated orange bucket coz we aint going aloft?
