  1. Is this really the horse you wish to flog?.
  2. If you want to be pedantic, it's me trading as insert company name. Don't you think I know the difference between them and have chosen what is best ?, I've even said it's a future goal. So why jump feet first until you get on your feet instead of going ltd and falling on your face as per the initial topic!.
  3. I am a sole trader of a couple of small companies. Limited or VAT status is of course a future possibilities, but start small and all of that. What I was trying to convey was you can't judge an industry by that data, whilst the ones most in debt will fail that's not any different to the past or the future. Shiny chippers and vans bought of massive credit, working 5 days to cover the payments it's inevitable compared to those who started with nothing and earned their way up.
  4. Glad I'm not the only voice of some common sense. Even sole traders are companies of sorts, obviously the distinction should have been a die off of ltd and other registered companies.
  5. You only have to be on companies House if your a ltd company.
  6. To be on companies House though your not the vast majority of companies. When it's 1/2 guy companies they wouldn't be on the list. Aspirational maybe, but I wouldn't judge any industry by it. As you can go up the tiers of success and down without going busy.
  7. Wouldn't that list only be of the VAT listed variety?. Whilst you can gauge any industry by such a metric, if you are starting up wouldn't that be last thing you would do unless you're doing 85k worth of buisness.
  8. It's going to be an absolute HSE nightmare, if they are asking you get them to look at the requirements.
  9. The cream does not float to the top in that line of work, bit like the labour party and trade unions.
  10. Top end electrical qualifications, are you sure about that?
  11. Maybe those that are both are the ones in charge. Like a hierarchy of stupid 🙂
  12. As it was in Germany, do the protesters have to have insurance or do they expect the place they're occupying to cover them. Especially with those idiots that claimed the Dartford crossing, it's not as though you can reasonably cover that in your policy.
  13. Did anyone read that VW article, the protesters seem to expect for lack of a better words toilet facilities. Next they'll expect you to also supply refreshments and the glue remover.
  14. It always boggles my mind the whole DMZ aspect of the island, it's a private NATO/UN playground.
  15. I really wanted to be sarcastic and say 18-30 holidays in Cyprus don't count. But respect those that have served.
  16. Was the dribbling due to the moist Victoria sponge or the taser sarg?. It'll never be as funny as "It's only Bolognese Andy"
  17. I'd rather have the WI than his Mrs to go home to!
  18. I'm well aware of perspective, I'm surrounded by history and trees that even predate most of that history. He who does not know his own history is doomed to repeat it. There is one distinction, nature does not form countries and governments, you can argue bees and other inspects do but that's more of a semi totalitarian pyramid. What a lot of people forget about Europe is democracy only restarted after WW2. They had a thin veneer during but mostly dictated to than a democracy.
  19. Great, now I've got the mental image of the WI forming table and chair bake sale road blocks, smearing pastel coloured camo cream on their faces to blend into the concrete jungle!. Older ladies rocking in the corner screaming you've not seen what I've seen in a 1960s Vietnam vet style.
  20. Think Kev is mistaking the UK for one of those countries that have had democracy for all of five minutes. They are the ones that riot, rebel and military coup, we have had a parliamentary system longer than any other. The army are sworn to serve the monarch, which in effect is the government. Okay I've simplified it but military coup is a complete impossibility.
  21. Best advice we can all suggest is be proactive and speak directly to a few local arb guys.
  22. I wasn't wanting to be cruel or dismissive as yeah, he seems nice enough but YouTube is a cruel mistress. It should never been seen as a cash cow, more of a side hustle. Social media and all the tick tock guff is for those that don't really work for a living and have time to setup and do it.
  23. I'm not sure if he doesn't see the sarcasm or delusional taking it as a compliment. Either way we can safely say people here aren't really your demographic.
  24. Maybe as a money earner, it'll be sponsored tattoos on all his shirtless videos. Maybe other local tree guys can pay for it ?.
  25. Generally, no as they will need access to the chimney for inspection and cleaning. Whilst adapting the chimney breast would be easiest it would need a register plate fitting. Probably more efficient to get a professional in to fit a liner to reduce wood consumption.
