  1. Lol my phone somehow thinks "thing" should always be replaced with "thong" !!! Doesn't matter how much I delete it it still comes back! Its gonna catch me out 1 day and will be rather embarrassing!
  2. I have to say the chances are it may well be a simpler problem as Spud suggest. As a matter of interest the diaphragm kit you used was it "specifically" for that saw or a generalised kit? It pays to compare the 2 very carefully when replacing as some gaskets will "direct swap" but missing a hole etc. Also some come with 2 diaphragms one stiffer than the other and replace the more flexible one with a stiffer one sometimes causes issues with not pumping well or not pumping at all.
  3. What country did the 560 first get released or was it released everywhere at the same time? Im sure it was released around sept 11 in the uk so Trolls saw may well pip the win unless anyone has an imported saw. Unusually we got the stihl 661 and Husqvarna 540 before it was released in America.
  4. When you see them roosting and nesting beside the plastic owl you know it doesn't work. Prob a more effective solution is hanging old cd's or something on string but as said an air rifle is the best solution lol
  5. Zama - C1T-EL41A No 4 in the pic shows it does have a check valve. To check it I just use a short bit of fuel hose and put it tight against it and blow into it to allow air into the venturi. It should be free flowing. However you shouldn't be able to suck air back and if you can its failed. (normally tho you cant build up a great deal of pressure in the fuel bulb tho which gives the game away but sounds as yours is ok) Normally they are either a brass or silver looking plug that's pressed into the carb and flush fit with a small hole in the centre. There is a wafer thin bit of plastic in it that acts as a valve and carb cleaner can melt it and compressed air can blow it out of place.
  6. Yeah that's the same settings as I have for that saw. Sometimes you can get a build up of crud under the welch plug but it is quite rare. How does the pressure feel in the primer bulb once the saw has run? Does it feel that it needs pumping back up again as it has air in there? Certainly in some stihl carbs they have a check valve (small 1 way valve) which when they fail they will allow air back into the system which give symptoms similar to what you have but husqvarnas don't normally suffer as its normally zama carbs. Do you know what carb it has fitted which is normally somewhere on the carb housing? Also last but not least you have got the primer hoses fitted right as the primer bulb is also basically a one way valve.
  7. Sounds carb related. Did you remove, clean and renew welch plugs or was it just the diaphragms you replaced? After its started and stalled pull the plug to see if its dry to give the game away. The other obvious assumption but best to ask the l and h screws have been reset to factory positions?

  10. It went to brazil certainly for the 051 and 076 saws so certainly wouldn't surprise me.

  12. Lol I was watching them both as had half a heart in bidding but never did. I love the 051/075/076 saws and rebuilt quite a few. They are pretty straight forward and there main fault is losing spark when the trigger unit fails behind the flywheel on the earlier models which is no longer available but there are ways to get around it. I would look at the oil tank/fuel tank situation first and see if its been combined into 1 big fuel tank and the possibiltys of getting around it to separate them again.

  14. Either of the 2 that have been on ebay the last couple of weeks? Its not as easy as it appears. Mainly made for the railways who insisted on the "chain oil tank" was turned into an auxiliary fuel tank which people seem to miss. On some theres no oil pick up pipe feed hole in the crankcase. Different air filter and cover. No lug for a chainbrake handle. Oiler and associated bits. Then a chain and a bar added into the cost.
  15. It would've been 2012 when you bought it. Bare in mind the shipping etc. Yeah Jon unfortunately that's the case with Husqvarna. Unless any parts in stock I don't think ive ever had any part in less than a week that's had to be ordered in and ive tried several different suppliers/dealers.
  16. Maybe they have a different holiday set up than us? Or as they hadn't been out to long and had lots of backorders even. Or it was actually a 2012 saw and just using up the old tags they had left over
  17. Longest ive had to wait was for a 395 throttle cable which took nearly 3 weeks and not much shorter for a 394 inlet manifold. Longest wait for stihl around 5 days for starter paul springs for an old 076..... Despite having more husqvarnas than stihls I do have to say that spares availability and prices are pretty poor in comparison to stihl parts.

  20. I maybe wrong but I think there was a short gap between the 550 and the 560 release dates so to speak if my memory serves me correctly.

  22. Example of dating Say serial number is s/n 11 160015 First two is the year ie 2011 Second two are the week ie number 16 Last four are the number of the saw made that week ie 0015 So saw was the 15th of the production line of week 16 in 2011
  23. As far as im aware the earliest production was 2011. If people are happy to post serial numbers you can work out which week they where made and the numbered saw from that week. There cropping up now quite frequently for "spares and repair" due to scored pistons etc

So there I was sat at some traffic lights passing by a fresh building site watching 3 lads with a newish large diesel chipper on the back of a tipper transit (not that old either) trimming back the road hedge with a hedgecutter throwing brambles etc into the chipper. Next thing ceased to amaze me... 2 of the lads trying to bend a 3-4" tree down whilst the third in only what I can describe attempted to nibble it away near the base in some vain attempt to cut it down with the aforementioned hedgecutter after eventually starting it after about 15 pulls of the starter cord.. Even worse was the fact they clearly had 5-6 to cut down not just the 1. Now I don't know if it was through sheer lazyness they couldn't walk the length of a chipper to grab a chainsaw or they just didn't have one with them. Now if I saw anyone mistreat any of my tools like that they would have a size 12 right up there arse and they sure as hell wouldn't have a new chipper and truck to be given to abuse either. So whats the worst mistreatments have you seen and sucked through your teeth muttering to yourself?
  25. Wouldn't think so Jon. Not by much anyway as they came out new in 2011.
