  1. We had a similar thing happen on a Forst, turned out the engineer got the 2 connections back to front on the stress sensor - don't know if it's similar on a TW. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. Best not to use normal washing powder the chemical detergent can be bad for the rope. Try Nikwax tech wash, good for all sorts of outdoor gear. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Friend of mine has found a rope and bag dumped in their street, sent me a photo and it looks more like arb rope than rock climbing, anyone lost any last night? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Make a change from nesting in the trucks!!! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Have a greenmech quadchip at work, great machine to chip with it really drags the brash in, BUT they are a major pain in the arse to service, too many body panels and poor access. We've also recently had a tracked Forst - great to chip with AND easy to service, that'd be my recommendation! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  6. Definitely a vote for Westons, the vintage is great or if 8% is a bit much the medium and the dry are lovely too at around 6.5%. And for the real hot days, Healeys Cornish Rattler! Best drunk at the bar on the beach in Perranporth near where its made. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. I would always err on the smart side for interview, if he says don't worry about smart I'd go for trousers, shoes and a shirt with no tie, I would always steer away from jeans and trainers. Whatever the boss says remember it IS an interview after all, better over than under dressed, pays to show you can make an effort. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. On mine it's Fn + F1, hope that helps. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Who was the good looking bloke in Orange helping you load it??? :-) Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. I picked up a Husqvarna 340 at auction yesterday for £80. It starts easily and runs up to full revs no problem, chain brake works and all seems fine, just a bit grubby. bar is a little worn but chain looks fairly new with plenty of sharpens left on it, it's a Carlton chain - not heard of them. So tomorrow I will be cleaning and servicing it and checking it over. The only fault I've found so far is the cut off switch doesn't stop the saw, could this just be dirty connections? So have I got a bargain or should I be looking to sell it on soon. Also when looking over it, is there anything I should particularly be paying attention to. Any advice or opinions gratefully received!
  11. Still looking for work - also have my own PPE (except boots - but this will soon be rectified!)
  12. I was made redundant last year after 10 years with the same employer, most recently as a Senior Manager for a Social Housing Association. I spent the summer and autumn doing garden maintenance and landscaping for friends and family to stretch the redundancy out, as well as some paddlesports coaching. I am also part of the Service Team at the local Scout campsite and have experience of various maintenance and projects in and around the 100 acre woodland site. I received some funding through the Job Centre (after 9 months of waiting!) and have just completed CS30 & 31. I would also be keen to complete further training courses. Before going into social housing I worked in Tool and Plant hire centres so have good knowledge of a wide range of tools and equipment. I have experience in managing teams of up to 30 people, completing tenders for local authority contracts, buildings and facilities management, recruitment, budget setting and monitoring, meeting contract requirements, quality assurance, etc. However I'm not looking for a desk job, I want to be in the outdoors, doing something productive and would welcome the chance of variety. I am looking for work in the horticulture/arboriculture/agriculture/conservation fields. I know that I have little experience in the area, but I'm keen, capable and trustworthy - I could also be more of an asset than just a body on the ground, but I'm willing to start anywhere and do anything - I would just really like to get back to work. I also have First Aid at Work cert and pre '97 licence so can drive C1+E, I'm experienced at towing too, having learned to tow with mini diggers and plant trailers! Any help or advice much appreciated.
