  1. this is the way i done it last time with the concrete spurs.
  2. i do just like roycurwen1 said, concrete spurs (god father posts), i allways bolt the timber posts to these concrete spurs on the ground, place in hole, brace to level and fill around with concrete just making sure the timber posts are left 1 inch above ground level, then once the fence is up cut off the top of the timber posts to suit. If you dont bolt the timber to the concrete on the ground it can be a pig of a job balencing a post while drilling through.
  3. ive allway just bolted cocrete spurs onto wooden posts, looks like wood from the front but the treated posts are left 1inch above ground level and will never rot...
  4. ive got the new general graber ATs on my navara, never got stuck once till this morning, went to help mother who had broken down half on round about so i drove on the snow/grass to pull the car onto the grass and got seriously stuck... but so did the shogun on new bfgs who came to tow the nav out! but the general grabbers are really good, much better than the goodyears that were on it before. good on fuel, very good on the road, much safer towing and not too bad off road, when these wear out in about 10 years time i will be buying a another set!
  5. unless im missing some thing here mine dosent have variable speed control, the honda engine has a automatic carburettor. mabe something to think about when choosing which husky model?
  6. i have a r53sv, had it about 3 years now, we've given it some stick on some of the jobs and havent had replace a single part! i know these are really only domestic mowers but i think there brill. only thing that really really pissis me off is the honda engine, i have had so much trouble with it, the fuel jets keep getting blocked up i have now put a seperate fuel inline filter on the pipe from the tank and seems to have helped so far... this wouldnt stop me buying another tho...
  7. looking for someone to remove a few branches of a big tree overhanging my chapel in the south wales areas of clyro/painscastle? the branches are high above the chapel im converting and need to be removed before they do any more damage to the roof. there are new insulated power cables below these branches with my chapel and few other houses and barns 'in the way'. Can any one who works these areas help?
  8. my old man bought 1 in 2010, he loves it! Tho it has been back to the skoda garage many times with small things, interiour lights not working, starter motor, engine jerking every few hours, allow wheels problem, and small rust spots behind rear doors on wheel arch... but we still love it and both agree that its the best car we have ever driven for just everyday stuff, very smooth and relaxed inside. Would he buy another one? Not sure...
  9. hi guys, thanks for all the replys so far. I know some of you are Etesia fans and some not so, but i have a old (about 1995) etesia MVEHH without a collector just the rear grass deflector, it needs a real good tidy up and something is wrong with the drive, it works but will only go forward or back if theres no weight on the mower and squeels seriously loud. I bought this a few months back last year for £300 but just abandoned it and started looking for something a bit more working, is it worth putting any money into the old etesia or go for something else?
  10. this is like the one i have been offered: Etesia ride on mower MVEHH | eBay any good? i have a few husqvarna selfpropelled mowers and love them for what i do at the moment, but i have had to turn down jobs with much larger lawns because of lack of time and equipment, since lack of time will not be a problem in the new year i want to sort out a ride on mower for these larger lawns, eg upto 1 acre. but i hate buying equipment that just isnt upto daily use and having constant repairs. Collecting in wet weather is pretty much a must. The ride on will also have to be able to fit on my ifor williams 10 x 5ft trailer. many thanks for your replys so far.
  11. most of the customers i cut for will only have the grass cut every 2 weeks, if i mulched that some of the gardens start to look like farm yards! i used to really like the westwood mowers but this last year i have been told too many storys of things braking and the costs of replacement parts. Just looking for a ride on that will cut in the rain, will not rust like a transit and be nearly maintence free. really like the john deere mowers but not convinced that the collector will be any good when is pissing down here in wales?
  12. we mow round it unless the customer decides they want to clear it up, tried clearing it up with the mower before but that was a big mistake! after a few cut the customer usually gets the message with clumps of uncut grass on their striped lawns...
  13. hi guys, im new to the fourm being a electrician but leaving my job feb/march to become selfemployed to continue and expand my grass cutting business (i must be mad). I know its not quite your side of work but I've followed this forum for a while now and trust your views. I have been looking at a few ride on mowers (2nd hand) and been supprised by the good reviews the Etesia mowers get, ive got the chance of getting a etesia MVEHH ride on with about 800 hours made in 2002/3, for the price of £1800 does this sound like a good price for the age? Would you recomend something else in that price range eg. john deere? must be able to collect grass and at least 40" cut. Any suggestions would be a massive help! Cheere Jamie.
