  1. I use a prussic!! But hardly use my flip line unless I'm doing pine, larch ect.. My main method is two anchor points:)

  8. Hi guys, been climbing a few years now and always got by with a blakes!! It's quick to set up, and easy to use. Well now I've been thinking maybe I need a change;) any advice on what to start out with would be great:)
  9. Cheers, do use the box cut on bigger sections now. I learnt my lesson:)
  10. Was doing a willow takedown. Was going well until I got to the trunk!! Was taking it down about 6ft at a time. Put my gob in made sure my strop was clear and started my back cut:( As it went over it ripped down one side which pulled me into the tree,took the air out my lungs and then ripped me down to the ground. I just remember laying on the floor thinking I'm dead. I have a few more years under my belt now and not made anymore silly mistakes since:)
  11. People do second jobs because we are trying to feed our family and have some kind of life. I'd love to spend the extra time with my kids on the beach but find myself splitting logs all weekend just so I can provide for them. Monday to Friday I'm a climber and sat to Sunday I split logs. Ill prob have one Sunday off a month. I'd love to change that but my bank account won't let me.
  12. When your milling up in a woodland and there are a number of trip hazards chain breaks are a must!! It's not big or clever to leave them off:) in my opinion they save careers, life's . I'd rather be working than stuck at home on the sick pay!!
