Got a question for all you zz users.....when using mine today on a body thrust back up to of tree as it was a relatively short distance It was noted by some kind younger chap that I was only pulling the tail to move the zz up the rope he seemed to think this was bad???? and promptly to me I should pull above the zz and adjust slack after with tail... am I really doing a bad thing???   3. Had marlow gecko ,13mm granted.....hated it after coming from Yale, hence I now use 11.7 yale blue tongue. Found the Marlow just wasn't me and wore quickly. Cheers Matty

  11. Hi all personally I use the sequoia and have only ever used petzl always worn high up.. near lower back if that makes sense just never have the leg loops to tight. that's just me Cheers Matty

  13. I have the Samson one of that size.....heavy but done some big old leaners in this wind with it..I always try to go for the most powerful. Depends on how much winching you do in a day cheers Matty

  16. Hi Paul...bought blue tongue & zig-zag on you recommendation mate and loving it feel like i'm almost 25 again. Old ways are hard to break mate when I learnt to climb no such thing as cambium saver. Cheers Matty:thumbup1:

Hi all, Since belonging to Arbtalk and reading alot of posts on climbing I have updated my equipment to try and keep current as an old set in his ways climber can.....ie 18 years climbing prussik and blakes 1 year hitch climber 2 weeks ziz-zag My question is with this new style rope ie 11.7mm should I use a cambium saver to prevent wear on my rope. If so what the best and best set-up. p.s. Before the flak starts when I was taught to climb they never existed. Cheers Matty
  24. What about trying to get hold of a copy of a nptc chainsaw course manual.....will have a dig around in the loft during the week see if I can find one, No promise's. Ideally taking a course or learning from a skilled user is the best way. Cheers Matty:thumbup1:
