  1. Read nosed beetle is making a lot of victims here too. It was found for the first time in 1994 in Spain. In 2004 there was the first case in Italy. It is causing a lot of troubles from south to north, especially in Sicily, Liguria, Lazio and Campania, Spreading to other areas like Puglia and Sardegna as well. As you were saying there are many different treatments on the market and many different opinions on which one is the most effective. They still have to find it, even if someone is having good results. An hard battle. Nice thread Deeco. Hope you enjoy there. Best of luck
  2. Thanks for your comments. Hope these pics makes it more clear . I had no many options for positioning the pulley up above. Positioning it on the main trunk ? the piece would have stuck in the lower branches. The direction of fall was the one you see in the video , between the two lowest branches. That's why I decided to put the pulley there. No many other options available. There are always better and safer options, for sure. It was only the two of us, with seven other cedars like this one to deadwood and thin. And about shockloading, ...................just let'em run Cheers
  3. Thanks! And yes ...that is what I mean by making the video appear How did you make it? I just copy the link but the video is not showing A better (but expensive) suggestion would be to buy a GRCS ... I'm working on it... Cheers
  4. A short video of a job from last week. Rigging a branch of an Atlas Cedar broken after the heavy snow we had at the beginning of the year. Can't still figure out how to make the video appear here... Here's the link
  5. This corner is really cool!
  6. Beautiful tree. Very nice find
  7. Thanks. This is just what I wanted to hear. Need this saw for pruning/deadwooding jobs. I know 35 minutes it's a good amount of time. Just wanted to be sure that they were effective, and that the saw was not starting to lose power after 15- 20 minutes. So I asked... Sorry if you've been talking about this saw many times before. Got your point....don't be upset
  8. True. The question is: how much longer? Really interested in this saw but before buying one I'd like to be sure about it. Specifications says 35 mins. Is there anyone here who's been running the saw for a while and can tell how much batteries really last?
  9. Daddy he once told me "son you be hard workin' man" and Momma she once told me "son you do the best you can" but, then one day I met a man who came to me and said "Hard work good, and hard work fine, but first take care of head"
  10. Good one. And nice avatar too.
  11. Velcro pads here too. Neoprene for the lower ones.
  12. I stick to my Buckingham. Find them very comfortable. Many say they're heavy....never been an issue... At the end it's you putting your weight on the spurs, not the contrary.
  13. Thanks Jon Snowing in the morning so I had time to wait for the fast one.. I guess the english name is Great Tit.
  14. No way I'm gonna mess again with the throw line when I come down.... I just retrieve my old rope guide with the art ball and smash it to the ground Next one will be a pulley saver
  15. Look deeper into orders and you will get even more confused.... (just like me ) Try with this link Kingdom Plantae, Orders of Plants
  16. Yes it is. Same order as Quercus, Betula, Fagus, Alnus, Castanea and some others.
  17. A few guests from this morning.... There are some others but they are much more shy and fast
  18. Juglans family ?

  20. Here is an easy one...
  21. Thank you and keep'em coming. Funny and useful thread!
  22. Last one then I give up... Was thinking about C. Drummondii but leaves look just a little bit different... I go with Cornus macrophylla .
  23. So I guess it's not even a Controversa Brachipoda... Always thought Controversa was the biggest amongst Dogwoods.
  24. Cornus Controversa.
