  1. Buy a Multisling, a Pinto pulley and a Revolver. Cheaper than a Silky ... more fun for sure... Guess you can add a couple of oval carabiners too and still you don't reach the price of their polesaws.
  2. Lugano is in Switzerland And about the pleasure of visiting this area...well..trust me there are far far better places in Italy than the area surrounding Milan. Anyway I' m still not so close to the big city.....rivers and hills are very nice, and the mountains are not that far. About the pine processionary moth...surely it is an issue, and it is constantly increasing year by year. Pinus Nigra are the most damaged in the forests, Pinus Pinea in urban areas. Now starting on Cedars too.
  3. The town is more or less 30 km north of Milan. Not far from where I live.
  4. It was in a little town in the north of Italy. I guess and hope they have been left. When I get a chance to go there I'll take some pics and try to get some info on the cause of the uprooting. It's a pleasure sharing on this great forum.
  5. I said she was because last November she got totally uprooted. These are pics from internet (I took those in the previous post last year):
  6. Great thread and pics! This was a beautiful Fagus pendula , more than 200 years old.
  7. More or less the same.. Like 11.7 mm(PI Sunburst) while Tachyon is 11.5. I like them both.

    Pine ID

Looks like a Pinus excelsa ( Pinus wallichiana). A beautiful tree. Don't know the english name, sorry.
  9. Cypress canker ( Seiridium cardinale) . Remove and replant.
  10. Cypress canker ( Seiridium cardinale) . Remove and replant.
  11. It's a Rhipsalis. Nice thread!
  12. I could be wrong but it looks like Cypress canker ( Seiridium cardinale) to me. Most of the Thuja hedges around here looks like the one in your pics. Very rare now to see someone planting them . Maybe that's the reason why the disease now is spreading more and more on Leylands. A big problem. Did you notice any resin emission? Great forum by the way!
