  1. Felt I wasn't putting the wire in between the cam correctly to trap it. Neither could I get it to strain around the post the way I required. On the off chance it would work the way I wanted. Got ours from Mole country store.
  2. Simple leaver type straining bar. To be honest I found it annoying..perhaps wernt using it properly. Did get used to leaning on it whilst putting staple in that worked kinda okay.
  3. Are there particular job specifics for cricket bat willow?I'm thinking in a stand there grown in close proximity for tall straight timber..no idea. College seams like years ago.
  4. Thanks, will look to getting that. Also Ive found this one. Digital Kindle or soft or hard covered book. A Guide to Stock Fencing by Andy Radford A Guide to Stock Fencing: Amazon.co.uk: Radford, Andy: 9781847976130: Books WWW.AMAZON.CO.UK Buy A Guide to Stock Fencing New edition by Radford, Andy (ISBN: 9781847976130) from Amazon's Book Store. 5. To be honest its a bit of a joke taking it out with us. We hadn't used it all day. Then out of curiosity we had a look and the two posts were perfectly plumb.
  6. 3 Strand high tensile cable for horses. 40" 30" 20" I'm only a novice. Was tought ages ago how to do it properly. Once the strainer is in we bang a strut in at 45⁰. Notch cut the face of the strainer or simply nail into it. Or another method put horizontal post to brace between strainer and intermediate. We tension up and staple in to touch the wire on intermediate posts. Using a machine tractor or what ever. past the straining post we tension up. But question is whats best practice for securing all that tension. So far its wacking a staple fully home to secure. Couple wraps round the post and back round its self to make a neet twisted termination. Sparsholt had some good sheets on this at one stage.
  7. Tragic greasy story, spent on getting there bearings right and good chipper attitude...maybe? Maybe not [emoji16][emoji23][emoji1787][emoji39]
  8. Im doing occasional tree work upto 20ft clearance fells, thats rough isnt it [emoji4] Also at the moment clearing fence line of trees tonre fence, so need a quick turn around. If i go down the trailed chipper root i would be chipping into a tipping trailer So would need a second tow vehicle. Unless i arrange to chip into a customers garden. Or your thread on wee chippers so presumably i could load it up a ramp and into a pickup and still tow my chip trailer. For me A wee chipper would need to chip 4" and have at least 25hp engine. With raised chip shoot. Or Would a Budget of £1500 get me a half decent towed chipper. And i change my double cab pickup for a tranny. Or get labourer to tow it with there vehicle. Ive used the bigger machines before. Just want to know if its worth it or is it better to put money into the towed version.
  9. Ahh telescopic strimmer for doing them roof top gardens.[emoji4][emoji39]
  10. Ahh so are you agreeing that the kombi is useful or that a fixed shaft is betterIn other words you say you had kombi forna while used it, was good but got fed up swapping and invested on a fixed shaft prooaper jaab
  11. I use the kombi system and the pole saw attachment. An Arb work mate uses same system with pole extensions. Personally i find the swaping out annoying, the tighening device can fail if over tightened the plastic which sits inside the shaft can come out making it a pain to realign the shafts. So if you can afford a one tool for one job only. Fixed pole or telescopic for it.. i cant recomend husky over stihl as i havent tried one. Pole saws very useful and practical if used sensibly IMO.
  12. Whats the benefit of mesh sides over boards? Obviously boards you can carry soil sand manure ect. Although this could be partly possible with bulk bags against the mesh. Im keen to sort out a trailer ive just bought, Ive skim read this post looking for ideas in adding high sides. It needs a bit of work, electics and sorting of dump level ect. Its A wessex 2.5t trailer. I was given some mesh sides from a iveco council type vehicle its quite heavy stuff. Proabbly not designed to be lifted on and off between jobs. My work buddy has a 12ft flat bed non tipping poss with 4 sides plus back and front. The post sink into the bed so its almost modular. Ide be up dor doing something like this. So usesful to have drop sides removable and be able to remove on side to load into. Brash/branches or even shoot chip into. Manure deliveries ect.
  13. What the Scheppach ones like earlier in this post and on ebay or something else
  14. What the erbauer is to heavy down a hole. Its only 18" surely the 900mm chisel would work well? I borrowed a bosch breaker yesterday worked fine not to heavy plenty of power todo what i wanted...bigger £1000 hilti or pneumatic maybe done it in half the time but then there maga bucks
  15. Love the photo kinda thing you might put up in the lav wall. Could have a double meaning though..fishing out large turd from u-bend [emoji4] Yeah them pincers, tweezer fencing tool things dont brake the concrete for ya..they would very soon bend.
  16. Yep i have some garden work for customers that needs doing plus my own fence since the builders were in that needs to go up. Im trying todo bits here and there but also trying to stick with the Govs advice for the moment. I like the reviews of the Screwfix Erbauer one. But since hearing what you guys are telling me about spares and sharps/chisel availability i would be prepared to go upto £500 to purchase something better. Still mulling it over.
  17. Just using an sds drill at the moment a spike and the other fencing bits..talk about vibes
  18. Okay did you choose any particular makita over the others
  19. Absolute nightmare to get hold of one now..bee and que stores advertise it but say its not available...so what does that mean, why not take the add down.. thinking I might spend more so I know I can get spares if I need them. yes it's only 200 quid but if I have to buy it twice its pain
  20. Think the company ive used is good they got good returns...yep should of checked
