  1. I bought a pair and subsequently lost them within 3 days, awesome things. As soon a a I get paid I'm ordering another pair. Daniel.
  2. A static redirect is when a Alpine Butterfly is tied into the line and the 'bina & sling are attached to this? These are only preferable when there is a chance the redirection point may snap? Daniel.
  3. I'm very new to single line but I'm really enjoying it and I'm trying to absorb all the useful tips I can. Do you find that you disconnect often when climbing back through natural redirects or is that my inexperience? Daniel.
  4. Use your lanyard as a a short main line to take the load and then pass Ropewrench setup through crotch before reattaching? Daniel.
  5. I do but I've not been climbing single line very long. I'm using 8mm Armor Pruss at the moment and it seems to be working just fine. Daniel.
  6. Not today's but yesterday's job. A Beech in Lyme Regis that had been pollarded many moons ago. Beautiful views once the sun eventually came out.
  7. According to their Facebook they're closed until the 2nd
  8. 2nd Jan. I've just checked as I placed an order on Friday.
  9. Exactly my thoughts. The wolf is an intelligent animal, as long as they have prey to hunt they would avoid man like the plague.
  10. All that said I may be a little biased hence the profile name.
  11. I guess that could be an issue but I was always under the impression that any reintroduction program would primarily involve locations as remote as the the northern most parts of Scotland, perhaps areas of Dartmoor. Again with careful control measures, electronic tagging of all animals, ongoing observation etc... I think small numbers may be reintroduced at if negative effects became apparent then they could be 'nipped in the bud' before they became a an environmental catastrophe.
  12. Reintroduction would consider dense population areas. Surely reintroducing species into remote areas with continuous monitoring wouldn't result in the rather Daily Mail prophecy of Wolves stealing babies from peoples homes.
  13. Tried this out today on a medium sized Ash thinning. Worked a charm, thanks guys.
  14. Thanks Rich. Hopefully give this a run tomorrow.
  15. Cheers man. Awesome thread, I've used a top tie-in a couple times recently and I've noticed the friction on retrieval of a bowline with a long tail.
  16. Do you use the spacer for the Pinto when you use like that Adam? Sorry to keep badgering, I'm new to single line and I'm trying to be like a sponge.
  17. That it was all you had to hand? A standard Pinto should suffice right? I mean you don't need to use a Pinto Rig?
  18. Would a aluminium carabiner be acceptable in this application?
  19. How do you retrieve the cambium saver? The same as you would DRT?
  20. A few from yesterday's Western Red Cedar dismantle at Sidbury Manor. A lot of firsts for me. First large dismantle, first dismantle SRT, first time vertical speed lining. Really enjoyed myself and I'm still pumped now if I'm honest.
  21. I briefly went out on a new setup yesterday. The knot bit almost instantly when dropping my weight into if you were self tending but after ascending a few metres it wouldn't bite without setting the hitch? Is there something I'm missing or is it just the result of a new set up until it beds in a little?
  22. "A Prussik for getting back through skinny redirects"??? Could you elaborate Ben? I'm new to SRT so trying to absorb as much info as possible.
