  4. This came up on my Facebook page
  5. That's just the small bit I could reach on the trunk but it has gone crazy on every previous pruning point. The customer said it didn't flower at all this year or last year
  6. Went to have a look at a job today 2 cherries and an apple to reduce and thin. One of the cherries has been pollarded at some point in the past and at every point where it's been pollarded there is the following disease / fungus. Is it black knot and if so given the amount present in the canopy of the tree what's the best way to deal with it? The customer wants it thinned and reduced but what would the imitations of this be on the spread of the infection and more damage to the tree??
  7. I have a 6" lock knife with a "rope cutting" blade that is tied onto a biner on my harness. Never start a climb without it.
  8. Yeah I noticed that did make me chuckle.
  9. This just came up in my recommended viewing on YouTube. Chainsaw Logs to Lumber - SurvivalBill.ca - YouTube
  10. I really like my positioner with the swivel iv had it a good few weeks now and I have to say its brilliant. Needs a bit if wearing in as it's a bit on or off when you first get it but once the cam is warm in a bit it seems to get smoother
  11. Thanks guys for your help just had it apart and looks like when it went in for repair they decided to rip the earth cable out of the ring terminal. Thankfully I managed to find my ring terminals in the garage along with ratchet crimpers and the problem is now solved. Starts and stops like it should. Now next week I wont feel like throwing it out the tree any more. Thanks Again
  12. My switch seems not to want to turn my saw off any more. Is there a trick to getting the switch working again or do I just need to replace it? Having to stall it to get it to turn off at the moment.
  13. Love my HC couldn't be without it.
  14. Both my lanyards are XTC one is red which is 5m can see it fine and my 10m lanyard is spearmint which I can clearly see also. I also use the 10m length as a main line on small tress. However I do have XTC fire as my main line and it defiantly stands out more than the others. IMO a nice brightly coloured mainline is nice but for short lengths I'm not so fussed
  15. If I had found that I would have reached for the axe before the camera
  16. Self employed climber, 30 years old looking for work. Have all my own PPE and climbing kit. Ms200t, ms261, CS30, CS31, CS38,CS39 and LANTRA Chipper ticket. Please PM me if you are looking for staff. Cheers Dave
  17. I would try out what they have to offer on the course and get a feeling for what you like out of the kit available on the course and make your own decision based on that. After you have done your training head down to an arborist shop and try out what they have to offer and what fits your budget.

  20. bought a ART Positioner 3 weeks ago and love it.
  21. This winch has got to be worth a punt for £10?? https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thursday-20th-march/product-detail/ps/p/heavy-duty-power-puller/
  22. Does anyone know the approximate monthly cost of a GPRS machine?
