  1. There's a certain theoretical appeal to anarchy though Mick. Circle the wagons, centralise the ammo, ready the weapons and settle down for a right good tear up. Certainly clear the decks of all the ill prepared wasters and career protesters that survive off the very dole cheque which represents the system they often openly despise...
  2. Tax the sh*t that everyone knows is bad, fags, booze, cake, plastic bags, petrol save the planet!
  3. Anybody watch this? It is worth it (albeit terminally dull) in regard to the subject under discussion in this thread...
  4. Bai Lan mate - it’s a bit of a lengthy one but all the answers you seek are herein: The tax Ponzi scheme and the illogical determination for ever growing economies with (what passes for) success being measured in GDP - the ‘quiet quitting’ phenomenon is a slow but inexorable manifestation of the realisation that traditional capitalist economies (and the pseudo socialist pretenders that are also actually capitalist in nature) are doomed to a slow and painful death…. Anyway, on that cheery note, I’ll have a beer.
  5. Nevermind that - get Tracey's phone number will ya! She looks like a right banger!
  6. Good luck with the 'internal' processing, my consistent dissatisfaction with online retail is where a company loses all of their own hard work, goodwill, reputation, customer satisfaction and return service through the bungling incompetence of a third party logistics delivery company. My piss boils when delivery is not executed as forecast by the 3PL agent or if packages go amiss, the customer is required to engage with the 3PL agent to trace. The customer has no relationship with the 3PL agent so the only interaction should be "thank you" when the package is delivered. I'll often enquire at the purchase stage who the delivery company is and if it is one of a certain noted few the transaction goes no further. Never had any issues with CSB deliveries though 👍🏻
  7. This is a dull video though.... https://youtu.be/YzpDN7laepo
  8. Not dull at all Jules - Quite the opposite! Talking trees, sudden (Summer) limb drop, vitality and longevity all potentially linked with cavitation in trees. But it was the selection and use of words in tree reports that was the main point of my rather tongue in cheek original post. I think its fair to assume the OP was meaning "holes" in trees rather than low pressure air bubbles in xylem 😆 Researchers measure cavitation noise in trees PHYS.ORG (Phys.org) —A team of researchers from Grenoble University in France has found that under experimental conditions, roughly...
  9. On BBC news right now, but I was reading this earlier… The global population is projected to reach 8 billion on 15 November 2022, and India is projected to surpass China as the world's most populous country in 2023, according to World Population Prospects 2022, released today on World Population Day. 8 of the highest growth rate populations in sub Saharan Africa. Well that’s great news given the supposed global warming predictions. Not much chance of many of those cnuts staying where they are. Just wondering, why is the ‘Western world’ pumping money into these regions to perpetuate population growth which far outstrips what is naturally sustainable? Why bother, all that’s happening is the artificial interference in a situation that nature seems quite capable of managing for itself.
  10. I was more focussed on the anti submarine warfare element of propellor cavitation in relation to acoustic signature... But now you mention it, I'll have a Stella! 😜
  11. Now you've said "etc" ie, et cetera: and other similar things. It is used to avoid giving a complete list. But actually, a complete observed list is exactly what you should be providing! No room for interpretation, addition, extraction or extrapolation. (I'm just pulling your leg by the way....)
  12. It was obvious what you really meant but there’s the difference between somebody having to put their own interpretation on what is written as compared to extracting the authors intended meaning. - quite important in report writing
  13. “Cavitation” is quite a different phenomenon to what I think you might mean?
  14. Give it a rest mate - derailing a thread can have some funny outcomes but derailing the whole f*cking forum into some sort of Samaritans think tank is bang out of order. Pull yourself together man, get a grip and crack on....
  15. Do any of you crypto coin aficionados feel or accept any degree of culpability or complicity for the potential move towards a cashless society? I don’t know if I would consider crypto coin ito be a facilitator or a barrier to central control of currency. I don’t have any BTW so not really backing any particular horse. I guess I’m a bit of a 🦕 if I can’t ‘bite’ it I don’t want it.
  16. You’re bang out of order mush! His head is neither small nor pretty - more like an over ripe melon. that fell off the bench. Personally, I have found the story quite fascinating. The journo has a history of being right on the spot just before an active protest like this. She’s done it before and come in for criticism by association. What I find interests that whilst she has obviously cultivated an inside contact with advance awareness, it is not her legal (moral might be different) duty to report (to the police) an advance notice of public unrest. Being ‘on the spot’ is career enhancing- as is the unlawful arrest and detainment. I say unlawful arrest because it was. As was the use of hand cuffs and as was the detention and I suspect the rozzers are going to be paying out a whopping compo claim. Forgot the protest, forget the motorway, for the impending end of civilisation as we know it - the subject under discussion is lawful / unlawful arrest of a citizen going about their lawful business. Arrest needs to be justified to prevent the commission of an offence or to preserve evidence and facilitate an effective investigation- she was just standing in a public place - no offence. Use of hand cuffs must be objectively justified by such elements as compliance, number of suspects / police, gender, size, temperament, behaviour etc- she was an entirely compliant female vastly outnumbered by TSG Rozzers. Even the custody Sgt who should have called upon experience, training and established procedure completely failed to properly assess the situation. One of the problems we have - even as a law abiding citizen (great film) is that coppers tend to go straight to nuclear option and slap the cuffs on despite this being entirely contrary to policy statement. Anyway, she knew full well what was about to happen, put herself right in the thick of it so as to benefit her own career and ended up in the cooler. The old adage “careful what you wish for” springs to mind BUT the rozzers went well off the reservation and they are going to have to pay out big - well, the tax payer PCC precept will. She got her 5 mins of fame so there’s no sympathy there anyway.
  17. I'd agree, up to a point. That point being, and where I am sure we are quite closely aligned, if it were an absolute necessity to satisfy the basic human need for shelter and security for the individual, then I would probably not have batted an eyelid. That is very far from being the case here though. This is a swanky posh pad air B&B at just shy of £200 a night as a revenue stream (there are (currently) still some interesting tax incentives for air B&B BTW) so it is not a case of man against the system. It is self entitled landed gentry mugging off the peasants so that his London mates can go glamping in Cornwall and on top of that, what pisses me off even more, is that he absolutely 'should' and by his own admission DID know that he needed to seek consent which is exactly what he comments upon in relation to others as a parish councillor, but he mugged that off too. Sympathy is found between shit and Syphilis in the dictionary...
  18. ...king brilliant! She's got some swallow on her 😂 How's this for a derail:
