  1. Can’t help thinking, and some quick searches don’t seem to help, that this scenario, whilst possibly, technically, in some defined circumstances, may be possible, that it rather sits better within the urban myth bracket. Has as anybody ever heard / known of a successful claim??
  2. There’s a spud farm on Bidspotter at the mo. There’s a box turner and some conveyor tables which look useful for loggers. Auctioneer is Lambert Smith Hampton: https://www.bidspotter.co.uk/en-gb/auction-catalogues/lambert-smith-hampton
  3. Adverse possession Alex, I’m thinking this only applies if the subject land is unregistered? If ownership is registered, all the time and all the maintenance in the world is irrelevant, you can’t ‘claim’ that which is already in ownership. Not certain, just my understanding.... Council reaction ‘could’ be to instal a big fence.... Might be wise to ‘do’ nothing, talk to no one! Just keep clear of any notable hazards...
  4. It’s good to see you back Stefan! I was certainly wondering if you’d spontaneously combusted into a fireball of enthusiasm! It’s good to get the ‘lift’ that your seemingly inexhaustible energy and determination bring. In part, it gives me a kick up the jacksy, but it also brings into focus the counter points that others offer - which are equally valid. Todays job was finished well early and I was on the sofa with tea & ? by 15:30. Good boys, good kit, good planning and good pay. I could have cracked on with another job but rather be home when the nipper finishes school. Good to see you are back!!
  5. ? to keep up with emails/messages etc on the move and make notes take phot’s. ? for more detailed stuff. File sharing between between devices is brilliant! Trouble with working from home is “people” don’t know when you’re working and interrupt with banal questions..... On ? in office = bring ☕️ otherwise leave me alone ?? The message is starting to get through... itd be a a joy to live here if everyone stuck to the rules, but Mrs gets all “anti” if she sees Arbtalk on ? with questions like “how is that work?” Bloody Dagenham machinists....Damn their eyes!.
  6. The generous space is what gave it away, along with the faint waft of garlic and the red wine stains! We get them F plates in little England too all one big huggy, happy EU family.... We even get the fishing boats hoovering up OUR private fish stocks - bastards! ?
  7. Self entitled cnuts with an “advantageous parking concession” complaining when the designated parking spaces are full so think their particular concession transfers automatically to parent / toddler spaces - when (a) they ain’t got a toddler and (b) moan like a short changed whore when someone ineligible uses “their” allocated spaces. (Yeah, that’s right, all heart!)
  8. Similar theme, but with a twist: now that parking space looks quite generous, is it in France? UK supermarket spaces are wholly inadequate for any thing larger than a Ford KA, and impossible for me to get my fat ass out of the fractionally open door (to avoid scraping adjacent car). ??
  9. I’ve adopted a different strategy for dishwasher loading - mine is so shambolic, Mrs J has banned me from dishwasher loading duties - Bonus!!
  10. Sign of an unstable mind.... nothing should be THAT tidy!
  11. That’s 85ggs porn right there!! ????
  12. Unexplainable- How some of us think some things are beyond logic, yet others think what others think is beyond logic... example: Where Ed thinks voting Tory is madness, it’s blindingly obvious (to me (and the majority of the population it would seem)) that there simply is no credible alternative! That was was an easy one! Food cooked by others is is better than food cooked yourself... Nah, not buying that one either!
  13. Check with the owner / main contractor what the payment terms are - you should have a clear understanding of time to pay from presentation of invoice (could be 30, 60, 60 past the last day of the month submitted - all not uncommon but seem to catch some people out.) Also, is it CIS deductions or not (sounds like it would be.) May not make any odds either way but some people seem to get hung up on this too. If it IS CIS, main contractor will deduct YOUR tax before paying you and will issue you a ticket to confirm this. You (and possibly any subs you engage) will need to be CIS registered so that you can 'cash in' your pre-paid tax voucher against your end of year SATR. If you, in turn, use Subby assistance, you need to be registered with CIS as a contractor (so that the main contractor can CIS you) and a main contractor so that you can CIS deduct at source the income tax from your subbies... Happy days!! ?
  14. Didn’t mean to “like” but given the options was a bit limited - recognition that ‘water wars’ are already underway and likely to intensify and expand was the point I want to ‘acknowledge’ rather than ‘like’ It has been interesting to read about canal water displacement, not something I’d ever considered, makes a lot of sense now it’s been explained.
  15. This weeks Cornish Times: woman breaches 3 Court orders, gets 6 weeks choky! TR breaks 1 gets arrested, investigated, charged, tried, convicted and sentenced (to 13 months) all inside 3 hours!
  16. Maybe he was a Camellia Leaf ??????
  17. Apples please. Oranges give me indigestion Just had 2 pints of cloudy apples, that’s enough for me!
  18. Sounds like you’re mixing up yr regs there (easily done since it’s not exactly straight forward!) A single cab PU would be eligible for AIA but may not qualify as a DPV. Apples and oranges...
  19. Hell Bob! Those are 'naughty' words.... Did you mean 'efficiency' and 'awareness' so as not to OVERPAY that which might be legally, morally and culturally appropriate....???? ??
  20. Paper cuts.... RSI.... Who does best sandwiches Pret v M&S... some proper wild cats! ?
  21. That’s not good! Surely there’s a subsidy for personal hydration??? (Just joshing!! Mull will be along to rattle me soon ?) Seriously though - you gotta keep the fluids going in.
  22. Have you finished the book yet chum? Here's something to keep you busy, I don't recall EVER having referred to YOU as a Libtard (Marxist maybe ?) - I expect you'll be scouring the back issues now to prove me wrong, but even if you find it, I'll still deny it and claim you have taken it out of context. Fancy a day on the lash in London week Saturday? ????
