  3. The first estate Forrester I met was allergic to ash in any form same symptoms
  4. I reckon 1.25 solid cube makes 2 cube of hardwood loose volume of logs, approx 1.25-1.4tons depending on ash or oak for example

Good discussion ,many valuable points .I dry using an arrowsmith senior in a 15ft fridge box 1and2inch sweet chestnut takes 8 weeks ,easy to dry .Oak I wouldn't try again ,unless quarter sawn.london plane ,or quarter sawn lacewood i prefer to air dry .Never thought of humidity tester ,just monitor water output .Where can I get one?
  6. as a relative newcomer to arbtalk ,finding my way round the site ,and finding quite a few interesting topics ,i now find the homepage and layout has changed .Is it me,or is it another test after a hard days graft ?Thats my only gripe today
