  1. I've always down them in pieces. Never put the outer edge on first so alway looked at tit that you can't. Normally when they are on my bench they are destroyed so I rebuild form in out. Learn something new every day. Just the way I've always done them.
  2. Now you have me thinking. I can't remember if the centre piece can be out in with the outers together.... I do hope they can. I havnt done a clutch in a while, I'm sure it will be fine. Edit, I've just relised you can't. That will have to come apart again for the centre,.....

    Rnli

That is PURE lifeboat porn that is......... They only have one boat, they are both seven class lifeboats. On is the stations, the other is on what's called passage. This is when a lifeboat is taken to or from Poole, either on an exchange for another that needs to go in for repairs or there refit. Brixham is also Torbay, I do believe there lifeboat is going in for refit, so the other one is taking over duties. Same crews different boat. A small note. If anyone goes near a lifeboat station and they want to know anything or to even just look round the boat, then go and see the station and just ask if anyone is there. They will be more than happy to show you around and answer any questions, and believe me we have heard them all....

    Rnli

From this mornings little run out. An ashes spreading job. The RNLI does do ashes and doesn't charge. All we ask is for a donation to be made by the people.
  5. What agg has said. But the only good way is to take it apart. I would remove the carb and dismantle to clean. Chances are the fuel has gone leaving oil residue in there. Had a rotovator in last week that hadn't been run for a year. The carb was gunked right up with oil residue. Had to strip it right down, even removing the h and l screws and giving them a blast. Doesn't take too long once it off.
  6. New gromit. Silicon will not stick and the fuel will very quickly dissolve it. Super glue will eat away at the plastics. Unless is designed for plastic. But even then if it destryes the tank area a new gromit will be no good.
  7. It's when the spring slips out the pliers and disappears accros the workshop. That's when the fun begins. A bench vice is always usefull for doing these.
  8. I'm not actually sure what this thread is about? Is it a well done husky thread or an up your stihl thread?. Or is it a I got a stihl and don't like it so I'm off to husky? Or is it a stihl policy moaning thread??? I'm confused....

    Grandparent

Argh. Wy didn't I see that when mine was born. Oh and I'm soon to b a grandad twice over in a few months. And I'm only 28. Congrats, now you can have all the remarks about being a grandpa....
  10. Hmmm. May have to check then. Normally untouched the first reading is 1.0mm give or take a few .0s. The lowest is 0.35 but that was with a dirty piston crown. So plus probably 0.30 of crud. The lowest level upped the comp from 150 to 190. The highest reading I've had expet for a new meteor piston that threw out 200 plus. And that is now only better with use. I havnt had him come back saying its hurt his arm yet
  11. Yeah more of exploration. Was going to see what the solder read first. The last one I did without the gasket and the solder was still reading 0.35mm. So with no base gasket it still had room to remove some. But then others I have removed the gasket and the piston slaps the pot top.
  12. I don't into at the moment spud as I havnt measured what the squish is. Need to get that solder in there first. See what that. Comes out with then decide from there. It's minimum 0.5mm isn't it....
  13. Ok. Can carefully try another mix screw to see if another one fits ok if its a pita to see the thread. I use magnifying glass to check these.
  14. Hmmm ok. Maybe cross threaded, maybe something got in there. Have you taken it out and checked the end. Should be a nice point. If not then its been crushed, or the thread should be nice. But the screw is steel and the carb ally so the thread may be crossed on the carb more than the screw. A good inspection is required.
  15. I have a box of spanners I got given for Xmas can I be a chainsaw tech. Pretty please.
  16. Could also be the worm gear drive, but that's behind the clutch so would need to remove the clutch to get at it.
  17. I'm not letting you dirty up my stihls. Just coz I got more than you. That puny picture on facebook is a disgrace:001_tt2::001_tt2: Call yourself a stihl lover...... Better stop now or I will get told of by spud for going on about stihls
  18.:lol: No I'm not a stihl dealer, just the most saw I repair. I'm not a dealer of anything, and I honestly like it that way as I'm non bias to any machine (but sthil still rule:001_tt2:) So its still either get the 201 repaired under warranty or get it fixed elsewhere. The joy of machine ownership. I've not heard of any 201 with oiling issues, and not had any in for a repair on oilers. Might be a bad oiler that slipped through. But again if its new dealer should have a warranty on it. Same with the 150. I would first try flushing out the oil tank with petrol just to be sure no crap has made its way in there. The check and clean the bar to ensure it not blocked, should be able to run the saw on tickover with the bar off and oil should appear at the oiler hole. But don't rev it up high. This will eliminate the bar as the problem.
  19. Another ms200t has appeared on my bench. They must be breeding. I knew I should have spererated them. This one is up for a bit of mod. No porting just a squish increase and exhaust mod. Don't see much point in porting as they don't leave much anyway and for a saw that is a working saw the squish and exhaust will be plenty. IMO. Might even look at reducing the bottom of the pot a bit to get that extra bit of squish.
  20. But they are both ms saws......... It's unlikely they are both dud. The ms200t is no longer made. Parts are available for it, if from a dealer just send it back. If not then that's he chance you take. Go buy a husky then, that's your choice. Sorry but the way I'm reading this thread and your others you do sond lieka whinger. The 200t has been out of production for a while now so it being brand new is slim. Aswell as most the dealers saying they ran out of them a long time ago. Either get it fixed and crack on or send to my bin and go buy husky,,,..
  21. No problems. Seems like you may have a bad saw. You probably can't get anything done about the 200t unless it was from a dealer and in warranty, but the pumps are easy to change as are the oiling gears. The 150 I would take back and get the dealer to sort it.
  22. Don't know me well... I don't do computers. Took me a week to learn how to use an iPad. I don't have an iPhone. I have a phone that calls and texts, the most exiting thing on it is the calculator, it doesn't even have games on it. And no camera either. The last PC I had ended up out the window, and I'm not joking either. The other saw it fly past. Give me an internal combustion engine any day.
