Evening all, Hodge have you had any problems? thanks for the input, im sure the 880 is a great saw but the dealer around here is not, on paper there's little difference other than the weight, but i guess there's know replacement for displacement,

Happy new year to all. i'm sure this question has been asked many times and for this i am sorry, How ever seems to end up a battle of brands, i have always run jonsered / husky saws and my local dealer is top i don't very often buy a new saw, mainly older broken ones and like fixing rebuilding as much as using them. But looking to buy a 390 or a 395xp mainly to run a 28" and 36" bar to ring up trunks. over long term use between the two what are the pros and cons? and usability? Many Thanks Shep

in no way speeding is ok and always try do my best to follow the speed limits but it's a big gripe of mine, i spend about 3months of the year driving to different parts of the country on roads don't know trying to find farms and dealers yards, but trying to follow speed limits is a full time job, some days i think i need a spotter like they have in India, driving is my lively hood and very proud of my clean license. i just wish speed limit were more clearly marked aka not hidden signs ect, they could make it so much clearer, rant over:biggrin:

i just run high octane with Castrol 2T fully synthetic power1 racing two stroke, burns very clean never had any trouble, i find they run better on the high octane smoother, meaning to try some aspen at some point. Castrol Power 1 Racing 2T : Castrol Moto

ive often been in a rush ordered non genuine parts thinking im saving £££. only to find out the non genuine didn't quite fit or last, and the genuine is cheaper or same price, so now unless there is miles of difference in the price i go with genuine, that's my 2pence il let you decide if it'e worth saving.

im looking at getting a electric chain sharpener/grinder, just wondered witch one to go for? i do do them by hand with a file but i think its time to get a electric one lazy i know but needs must

have run fendt for a few years now can't fault them never have trouble and hold the value well, but there are other good makes, as for telehanders, weve just had a new merlo and had this 38.10 on demo fair thing 140hp would nearly push 50k on the road,

i really do feel land rover have lost direction lately, the early 300tdi defender was the best they ever made the td5 wasn't to bad, and has proved far more reliable than first thought, but the as for the latest transit engine'd i cant think of any one who has one with out drive line problems ect, you only have to look at how many jap double cabs they are now compared to 7/8 years ago, its a real shame i think there is a big place in the market for a good full time 4wd pick up with difflocks ect and can tow 3.5 tons but im not holding my breath for anything from land rover, im not anti land rover at all weve had many but they too unreliable now,

Sounds like you have had trouble, i looked for a long time, and half of them don't look made well enough, but digbits have thought about this grab and its built but time will tell, lucky i didnt have to weld a bracket to the back of the dipper arm as bobcat come standard with it on, witch grab have u got or had?

Hi rod, its a dig bit's grapple for a 3ton machine mounted on a 2.7t, you can get them cheaper ones but they are not build as strong by miles and havn't got hardox tines, i run a hardox albut buckrake for silage contrating and they never bend. i looked att all of them from log grab with rotor to thumb to use with bucket but for me i felt this was best for around the farm and in the woods, here a link to the 3ton grapple, DIGBITS Online Store
i payed £500 for mine (2nd hand) a new one list price is £699, but im sure there is discount to that, you will wounder how you ever managed with out it.

yea its plated at 2.7 ton, the trouble is the old navara clutch dosn't like it its abit heavy really, but its what came along at the right £££

ive been using it for the last few days, saves hours, i know what you mean about the tines being a bit longer i think if it they had solely built it for timber use they would be but as its an all round grab it works well, i think if the ended of the tine were jagged it might grip some bigger logs better, i do plan to put a ball hitch on the blade to pull a atv log trailer (once built)

hello all, after much thought on building/buying a log grab and about 3 years later and a few quotes, i decided this was the best all round solution and value, a digbits hardox grab i was surprised how well it's built, but most of all how useful it is, here's a few pics, id be intrested in ur comments/thoughts.
