  1. To be honest I think the 385 was a better saw than the 390 is in standard form but once Steve has been to work ..........

  3. Come over to the dark side 5shires Wayne .....you know it makes sense ....Come over , come over ..." the force is strong in this one "
  4. I am refering to the Husqvarna 390 XP ( superceeding the Husqvarna 385XP )
  5. I love a happy ending .....
  6. I wanted another 385 to replace my stolen one but they had stopped making them so I got a 390 . I think in standard form the 385 was slightly more aggressively ported . I did however get spud top work his magic on the 390 and now its mustard ! Think the 390 benefits from fitting the carb from a 372xtorque .
  7. Could be wrong but looks like a pre Xtorque 372......
  8. I could be wrong here ( coz its never bothered me enough to find out ) but over the years I always thought XP to stand for extra power .......
  9. Something lighter and faster would be Husqvarna 560XP . I run mine on an 18" bar .325 driven by an 8 pin sprocket . Easely converted to 3/8 though if you wanted to keep the same pitch as the bigger saw . ( Same files )
  10. When you said up to 30" I was thinking Husqvarna 390/372 . a bit of weight but if just cross cutting then not so much of a problem . Depends on the ratio of small stuff to big and do you put the small stuff in a horse of some description so cutting in bundles ? I think 372 could run 15" bar up to 24" bar .
  11. 372 here ....spud ported or extra,extra punch ..
  12. I think the block pattern has changed ......
  13. They only count if added to the load
  14. Doh ! Yep TCD . Sorry .
  15. The volume of wood is identical . As you point out it appears less when stacked due to smaller air gaps . Same amount of wood though ......
  16. Check with TDC he is your man .
  17. Yea I can understand that
  18. Ok thanks Wes . Have you ever hefted a 125 in anger ?
  19. The new Cooper STT are available now . Had good reviews check em out .
  20. Pissed down all day so lit it in the afternoon ..had to open up the patio doors by 6.0pm tooo hot !
  21. Would that be a Super Pro 125 ?
  22. I am privileged to see and hear Spitfires on a regular basis . I live very close to Goodwood Airdrome were some ( 2 I think ) are based . They fly over me once or twice a week . Guy Martin is a top geezer . He once was asked on live tv if he had trouble sleeping the night before a big road race . He replied ."a couple of good wanks and I'm sorted " !
  23. Sooo you don't read any of the posts by TDC then ??
