  2. How are you mate ? nothing in particular ?

  3. Don't know is the honest answer but if its someones house in a residetial are we start a 8.00 am . In the woods its 7.30 am .
  4. Just my opinion but I don't think you can get a better job than with a new file . I it needs grinding then it probably needs bining !
  5. Think they are the same a Stretch Air . My mate would not ware anything else a few years back . Supposed to be the billy bollox . Expensive .
  6. It seems its a Sarp number also !
  7. no idea ! May be it is an Oregon chain or --- Carlton or husqvarna or daa de daa de daa ! Not staying in any more on a day like this . Send him to his dealer and sort it . Going out with my spaniel ! Laters
  8. And pitch . check info on bar .
  9. On a 391 ? woud not have thought so . I am a husky man myself but I would have thought a 391 would be a 325 pitch 3/16 or more likely .375 pitch 7/32 file ? ? ?
  10. OK Felix . To be honest its so long ago I can't remember . I just give the rakers a couple of strokes after 2 or 3 sharpen ups .
  11. I would go for the hand held file that is clamped in to a filing plate . The size of file and its corresponding plate will depend on the pitch of chain . on that saw probably .325 or .375 (3/8) The filing plate will have all the angles marked on it so its pretty simple once you have done a few . You will need a flat file to take the depth guages down after , say every 3 sharpenings . If you don't do this the chain will eventually rub and not cut as the depth gauges will be too high and not allow the cutter into the wood. I could be wrong here but I think the 25 refers to the height of the depth gauges in relation to the highest point of a cutter ie .025" lower than the cutter to allow it to bite into the wood . This depth gauge figure , I think , is only stamped on Stihl chains but I could be wrong . ( so long ago ! )
  12. Agree with all of that , not sure he needs the lathe though !
  13. Hi . You could spend money and get a survey but I think any sensible tree officer would see the potential danger and grant you the go ahead . Cost of replanting - minimal . Cost of rebuilding house Max !
  14. Hi Steve . I can do a nice cup of tea !
  15. If the stop switch is wired correctly then it must be a fault in the coil me thinks . Spud will know .
  16. Nope not yet . It had a new 2012 carb fitted and that cured the hot start problem but not the cutting out under load . Took it back today and not heard anything more yet . Will ring again tomorrow .
  17. It used to be just above or near the chain oil filler but more recently its tucked away on the clutch side of he saw but behind the top handle . Small black plate with white lettering .
  18. Out of the 550 and the outgoing 346 I would take the 346 . I have one and it is totally reliable . I have a new 560 which is a slightly bigger 550 and it is giving me no end of trouble .
  19. Well jon . mine isn't ! It seems others are though >
  20. Hi Stu . Have read the bit in the manuel that you mentioned and doing that is exactly what makes it cut out . So that dissapiars up its own arse really . Any way took it back this morning and my dealer said he would phone Husky technical and get me a replacement - - they won't answer the phone. Started calling at 9.0am and not got an answer yet . its gone mid day . I suspect they are bizzy !
  21. Thats how I had it reasoned. I bet the got a forwarder as well . I hate those scumbags .
  22. We got a Jensen A540 . I think its an 8" feed . Any way we ran it pretty much all day long for 4 days in the woods last week chipping hazel , birch and sweet chestnut . It never missed a beat .
  23. Bring back the grease nipple ! ! I know what you mean matey . I do have a tidey up some times . Blow the air filters out get the crud out of the bar dress and turn it . Have been known the change a fuel filter now and then ! Stopped cleaning modern spak plugs just recently though as was advised not to on this forum a few weeks back .
