  1. faffed about today with ignition while on jobs, and it must be down to a loose/broken wire and or bad connection.will pull it bits and see whats occuring. when its been cutting out today, kept a close eye on the key and its position, doesnt seem to move tbh ?!
  2. aw jenkinson are big round us,on a parr with stobart.google em see if they are in your local area too
  3. we built ours, had steel in stock, hydraulic rams and fittings cost £160.00 if it wont split it ,it'll shear it clean in half instead!
  4. french platt the rope as you put it away ,a lad who climbs for me does it as he puts it away, baffled to how he does it or how it stops it coiling up but it works??!! mayb someone on here knows how to do it
  5. i think it depends on the qaulity of spikes,i used to have a set of bashlins with the velcro pads and medium spurs.these were the dogs felt so confident in thembut they got nicked and ive got a cheaper crappy pair now with the long gaffs which are useless in most hardwoods.also got shorter gaffs for them but they are too short?!! thinking of going back to the bashlins asap as just dont feel confident on these others!!!
  6. empty head here climbed up a large willow to retrieve a hanger in the gales, slat the throwline up and rope in.got 40ftish up then looked at where i wanted to anchor in..........saw the top swayimg 4ft in each direction then decided to retreat!!!call me a coward but down i came!! it can wait for calmer skies.lol at least i got to test my new cresto skybelt out
  7. ahh yes middle aged fences are best,u can bounce all sorts of brash and noggins,or even fell onto them and they go back up better than before
  8. i started on logs, but then got a few wind related phone calls, turned out to be a very prosperous day
  9. we advertise fencing and groundwork, helps us diversify alot.
  10. not too sure pal but will have a looksy tommorrow.sounds like a good wet weather job in the workshop too
  11. will ask our dealer if they are available on a 15" rim, should think they are as vitaras, jimnys and sj's run on 15's
  12. i own an 04 model 150 and of late its being a right pain in the arse !! it will run for an indefinate amount of time no problems, then all of a sudden it will stop for no apparent reason,no coughing/lack of power etc it just dies!!! turn the key and it bursts straight back to life??!!,could then mayb run indefinatly then again or cut out as soon as it draws material in and the engine goes under load. Ive changed fuel filters, both screw on and in-line,checked fuel lines drained tank and flushed it,checked tank pick up point, but yet it still does it! could it be a dodgy stop solenoid that isnt completly releasing when turned back on and as soon as you vibrate the machine it jumps back to the off position? baffled also told it could be the diesel bug,but i would of thought it would cough and splutter than just die as if youd turned it off? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  13. yours sounds like a newer model that has problems with the tank sucking in due to a crappy designed breather. mine will start straight away after its died but just cant stop it dying.lol Siw, changed the hydraulic oil and filter back in june, probs only done 100hrs since, the oil level is where it should be on the markings on the tank
  14. all tractors run hydraulic pressure @ 2500-2800psi roughly, but it all depends on flow rate.....litres/min and the size of the cylinder on your ram. your tractor should run a 5-8 tonne splitter ok provided the cylinder on the splitter isnt massive. we built a twin ram 16tonne log splitter below is how it runs on our machines: -kubota st30 compact tractor- 2500psi,35ltrs/min flow rate-splits well but is slow -1989 jcb 520-4 telehandler-2650psi,65ltrs/min flow rate-splits fantastic and is realitivly fast.spends most time on this!! -2010 john deere 5090-2800psi,90ltrs/min flow rate-ANIMAL!!!! eats wood for brekky!!!!!! all of above are run on idle tractor revs except the kubota which we rev to 1500rpm for optimum performance.
  15. thats y its in b&q.lol u dont expect things from there to last long.lol:lol:

  17. not guilty sir our tonne bags are the taller than standard cube bags in white.Tell him next year if he needs local source of decent hardwood thats seasoned then give me a ring all our wood is now undercover from the day its felled, great investment is a poly tunnel ps i think i know who that muppet selling crap is

  20. thats a mint tip John, will try that one next time im on it
  21. agreed im also quite into swamp loggers, just a totally diffrent sketch over there!!!
  22. as Gray said, nice high anchor point, get yourself leaned back into your harness, steady yourself, try to use a supplementary anchor point with the tail end of your rope-this always helps in the learning process as it removes the sway aspect of the limb walk that is notorious with a single anchor point alone.
  23. what dya make of the yanks way of timber harvesting?
  24. ahh think im safe pal, thats a dud email that no longer works, used it as a user name as its somthing i always remember.lol.will change my profile, avatar etc when i learn the ropes.....pardon the pun
