  1. i used to practice KRAV MAGA,but was always getting home too late for the class:confused1:

i might have a go at GOSHINKWAI,where the class is closer to home..

Yeh its the time thing thats the biggest issue , and tiredness when you get home . Would be good to learn some of those techniques though . :001_smile:

  2. Do a thread search on this , i think it was possibly me that started it . There was good answers the best being get shot :001_smile:

PS.. pull over , switch off engine . Wait couple minutes , restart , wait till black smoke dissappears thats it sorted ( till next time ) and just dont accelerate too hard :001_smile:

  3. lol, rads is a slow way to ascend if you're good at srt or DdRT for sure but we knew what he ment, as with cycalists everyone has an optimum RPM and as such different riders chose higher or lower MA's.

Secondly, PLEASE do not use a gri-gri in a rads system, they were not designed for such and there have been several accidents with them, look at which way it is sprung...........................OPEN a gri gri is a belay device and should be treated as such just like any other stitch plate or F8

the last load of IRATA guys i saw using them was before the rig, they wanted light compact gear and they hated the ID anti-panic-descent function. after ascending or desending they locked it off with knots as they had soon realised that the gri-gri had a tendancy to slip!

Use an ID or a rig x stay safe people x

Your right , it is always sprung open . So i can simply replace the gri gri like for like with an id or Rig ? I would genuinely love to see some ' experts ' ascend srt if they think rads is slow , i mean how quick does it have to be

Ps . I always back it up with a french prussik as i would do with any descender just in case :001_smile:

  4. 'Why? I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's trouble, a man alone. Now they got the whole country sectioned off, you can't make a move without a form'

I used to think like this ... but a day involving great TEAMWORK i think is one of the best feelings you can get in our industry

  5. Sorry what is RADS?

Its just an srt system of climbing where it is possible to ascend and descend with minimum of fuss and effort using the equipment HA has described . Check out the ' Victorian Tree Industry Organisation ' website and youtube for more detailed info . :001_smile:

  6. Two of you fold it over with a scaffold pole , then spray , half an hour tops you would get in a utilities company for that . Maximum volume per hectare printed on all chemical product labels , it is a poison after all ! :001_smile:

  7. I've been playing about with the RADS system lately . Very simple to install , quick and easy to ascend , great fun descending on the gri gri . Can use the gri gri from the ground for aerial rescue also . As HA says there is a bit of flamphing around involved though . :001_smile:
