  4. How will this affect the one-man-band who operates from home without suitable premises for an o-licence?
  5. Sky News now showing video of a huge fire on the M5. Not sure they should be showing these images given that many people will be seeking news about friends and family.
  6. No, you only get shafted if you get caught.
  7. Is this for all the wood in the picture or just the wood on the trailer?
  8. Will my local cholesterol enabler (kebab retailer) who operates from a towed kitchen have to take a 45 minute meal break every day because he's operating under driver regs? It could get nasty if he has to take a break after closing time. The Government havn't really thought this out have they!

  15. We can argue the toss over this until we're blue in the face. If anyone feels aggrieved about this matter, simply fire off a complaint to The Independant Police Complaints Authority. It only takes a few minutes and is very gratifying. I introduced a few coppers to a world of misery for falsifying details to obtain a warrant to enter my premises. Most enjoyable. Hopefully this links to the online complant procedure.
  16. You have the right but you'll be fighting a losing battle. But at least you'd be in the right.
  17. Any gorse within 100 metres of my property will get burnt. It's taken years to get rid of the stuff.
  18. Under common law we have a right to travel. Common law trumps the £100 restriction to free travel as it is only statute. As I understand things we can lawfully refuse to pay the fine, but cannot legally refuse!
  19. I've got a 30' gap in my garden that I need to fill with a tall hedge or some fast(ish) growing trees. The hedge is 250m above sea level in a very exposed area. I have a staghorn tree in the garden but this regularly loses branches to the wind. I'd like to use native plants to keep the garden in keeping with the surrounding fields. Trees that are found in the area include ash, sycamore, hawthorn, rowan, damson, elder and yew. What would you suggest that I plant?
  20. What are the major differences between Stihl's landscaping saws (eg ms391) and their top-of-the-range forestry saws?
