  1. The Crossing by James Cracknell and Ben Fogle about them rowing across the Atlantic. I think there's something wrong with those two! Although I'm thinking about buying a boat......
  2. It's the final countdown (cue music!) My legs are sore just thinking about it.
  3. Good running fellas! I've just done 11.5 miles on the relay that's following the Olympic torch. Found it hard work because I knew I had to get to the end at a certain time. And im not very fast!
  4. Recce'd the marathon route in Hamsterley Forest. Did 11.5 mile. Keep your London marathons. This is going to be awesome. Tried to take a photo but the rain had messed with my phone!
  5. Panic setting in and its still over a week away!
  6. 3 to the gym, hour in the gym on the weights, 4.5 home via the shop. Too bloody hot for me today!

  16. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/45048-hamsterley-forest-marathon.html Fishing for sponsorship on this other thread.
  17. In the nicer weather the Pendle club used to launch at Foulridge on to the Leeds Liverpool canal. On my "to do" list is a canoe trip along the entire length of the Leeds/Liverpool.
  18. I joined a kayak club and they practice in the local swimming pool one night a week. Its the perfect environment to practice strokes and rolls and stuff. When I lived in Burnley there was one at Pendle Wavelenghts baths in Nelson. Is that too far from you? There'll be one closer perhaps. That way you'll be able to get a feel for if you like it and if you want to spend money on your own. They'll advise you on what to buy too. Ive stopped going at the moment just because of other time commitments but it does get a bit stale after while in the pool. Rivers are where you want to be!!
  19. Thanks Paul. Problem is this IS the last fortnight! GULP!
  20. I've been training for the Hamsterley Forest Marathon, which is on the 1st July (fast approaching!) Its the first marathon ive ever done and I cant think of a better location than Hamsterley forest. My excuse for running so slow will be cos i kept stopping to look at the trees! Im going to be running for Parkinsons Uk as my dad and my wife's dad both suffer from this debilitating disease. My dad is only 59 and ive seen him go down hill pretty quick since his diagnosis. It would be very much appreciated if you could visit my just giving page and maybe put a couple of quid down. Christopher Schroeter is fundraising for Parkinson?s UK Thanks in advance, and I'll keep you informed of my pain!! (this is how i run!)
  21. Did you swap the seeds for a cow Jack? Wonder what I grows into!
  22. National news!!
  23. This has an opposite leaf arrangement aswell though doesn't it?
